This is such a fail post.. I'm shaking my head right now.. The most commonly seen avatar in the image, not in general.. whatever it's an achievement, I haven't seen anyone else in sc2 with it so I feel like a pimp.

Yeah, I took out the mobo and put it on a cardboard box like you suggested and stripped it down to the bare essentials to try and get it to POST but still no dice. I believe the mobo is in fact dead. Now the question is how long will ASUS take to RMA this. They say 2 weeks, I hope it doesn't really take that long. I already spent a week waiting on the new power supply :(

[QUOTE="freesafety13"]It sound like the mobo is fried to me. A. Do you have onboard graphics? B. Do you get any indication on your monitor that it detects your graphics? C. If your monitor says something along the lines of no signal detected when the pc is on, then the mobo is shot. The main indication of this is the fact your cpu fan would not run when hooked up to the cpu aux controller on the mobo.

A. I have the ASUS M3A mobo. I'm not sure if it has onboard video. B. I don't get any indication that graphics are detected, and power seems to be getting supplied to my ATI HD 4850, but it revs at what sounds like 100% fan speed. C. You are right on the money about the fan not running. When the power connector was connected to the CPU_FAN connection, it didn't spin up at all. I changed it to the PWR_FAN connection to get the fan to work at all. But yeah, pc won't POST and no error speaker beeps. I put in a RMA ticket for the mobo. This is probably going to total out to 3+ weeks of waiting on RMAs to get my pc working again. So frustrating. But thank you so much for your useful input. It saves me a lot of headache and frustration.

Hahaha, well I guess that is a vote of no confidence in Geek Squad. I figured I personally had more know-how then they do anyway, but this problem really has me scratching my head. I think I might just try RMA'ing the mobo, but I just got done RMA'ing the PSU (which I know failed before because I witnessed it belch smoke). Is it possible the prior PSU failing fried something in the mobo or another component?

Well, I know how to hook things up pretty well generally speaking. I built the pc from scratch myself. I'll try doing what you have mentioned and I seriously hope it works. I don't want to wait another 10 business days to get a replacement mobo. Does anyone here have any faith in Geek Squad? Do you think if I took my pc in to them they could positively id exactly what is going on? I just don't want to jump through any unnecessary hoops. Side note: I got the CPU HSF to spin up by hooking it up to the PWR_FAN connection rather than the CPU_FAN connection. Not sure if this indicates anything. Still no post or beeps at all.

I recently just went through the RMA process with OCZ for a power supply that failed on me. After waiting a good week on a replacement, it arrived today. I took it out of the box (it's brand new) and proceeded to hook it up. My computer hookups have been undone for a week so I don't remember *everything* that was plugged in etc., but I'm pretty sure I have everything back to the way it was. When I go to turn on my PC, it powers up, the external fans turn on, my GPU fan turns on but is revving pretty high, but my CPU fan does not spin up at all and the computer doesn't post. I don't get any beep at all, not even an error code beep. I'm pretty sure all of the power connections are hooked in and ram is seated nice and tight. The processor gets warm after about 2 seconds so I know it isn't dead. Any ideas on what is keeping my computer from booting? I'm desperate :( And I've already cleared the CMOS and removed the battery etc.

Is it a good game? See my avatar and take a guess. I loved it. Did it have bugs? Oh yes. Was I able to enjoy the game despite this fact? Absolutely. And that picture is so true .... I might reinstall it myself ... gahh. To this day I adore the atmosphere of that game. I really truly felt immersed in that world. The music, the ambiance, the characters and voice acting, even the environments, just so well thought out. I mean, Jeanette has to be one of my favorite video game characters *ever* . This game received a low score because it wasn't polished, not because it wasn't good. If this game had received the development time and attention it deserved, it would be even more of a classic than it already is. If this game was remade today with modern tech and graphics, I might just keel over and die ... happy. And dakan, please stop whining. Your point was made a loooooong time ago.

[QUOTE="StopThePresses"]I neither know nor care what Rogue Mutilation Spec PVP is. I never played the game for the PvP part of it, and the PvE got boring once it got to the point where the only thing I was doing was the same content over and over again for a slight chance to get better gear (back in Vanilla). The reasons people keep playing MMORPGs for years are mostly the social aspects and the Skinner's Box aspects of them. If that's what people get enjoyment out of, that's fine and all, but if they don't realize the actual likely reasons they keep playing the game, they are just fooling themselves.

What do you mean by "Skinner's Box" ???
