I played through Final Fantasy X and X-2 twice, and I spent about 115 hours on Morrowind before putting it down.

I'm really surprised that nobody's said Guitar Hero.  I maybe only play it in spurts, as opposed to long marathon sessions typical to RPGs, but I can say that I've spent a ton of time on that game, and will continue as the new games come out.

I like reading player reviews, and I like to think that I'm one of the better reviewers out there when it's my turn to review a game.  Unfortunately, when going through the list of player reviews, it's a crapshoot as to whether you'll get a well thought out review, or a rambling mess.

I'd like to see some sort of "featured reviews" at the top of each game's player review section.  Doing this via recommendations is a bad idea, as unscrupulous users will just spam their reviews to the top.  Perhaps this is something that the tMods can help with.   The system could be hand-picked.

Hey Alex the guy in your sig looks like Jerry Orbach that guy from Law and Order who died a few years ago, is that him?_Bear

That's Dan "Ray Stantz" Aykroyd from Ghostbusters.

As for the main argument, are you guys joking?  Ok, conceivably, someone's decision as to whether or not they should get a 360 could hinge on titles like Aegis Wings.  However, that's highly unlikely, and they're not the type of people who are going to make up any significant portion of the gaming population.  GS has a limited amount of resource that they can throw at any game, so why would they choose a freeware 'shmup that anyone can try out on their own without any penalty?  Better that the reviewers are off checking out bigger and better games that we'd actually have to pay for.  I think y'all are making an argument just to make an argument.

And who uses a plane to fly within the confines of Miami (Vice City had them)? Who uses a plane to land in the middle of a busy street? Who uses a dump truck to run over pedestrians?

It doesn't have to be a life simulator, it should be about giving the player as many options as possible. Just as the past ones did.The_Duke_Lives

I think you're looking at this the wrong way.  New York's skyline is so choked with tall buildings and is so densly populated that there would be nowhere to land.  There's very few options for moving around the city in a plane that it would be pointless.  Better that Rockstar focuses its efforts on building interiors, lots of cars, and better graphics.

Despite being an awesome game, Max Payne 2 was AWFUL on the PS2.  I had to stop a few hours in because I kept forgetting to save then dying and starting all over.  Plus, it looked ugly and the framerate kept dropping during the most intense parts.  I gave up, and picked up the Xbox version.

Seriously, how does crap like that happen anymore?  It should be easy to port the game as-is, right?

I was recently playing Gladius by Lucasarts.  The game is set in a world based on ancient Rome.  Your characters travel from town-to-town and compete in different gladiatorial games.  All action takes place in the ring, and combat is turn-based.  The battle system is very well though out, and the entire game stands out from the standard turn-based RPG (like Final Fantasy, Shadow Hearts, and Suikoden).

As it turns out, I'm not a big fan of this type of RPG, but it's worth checking out if you want to try something different.

UC2?  Yuck.  I did not like that game.

Star Wars: Knights of The Old Repbulic
Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition
Ninja Gaiden Black
Burnout Revenge or Takedown
Forza Motorsport
Halo 2
Max Payne 2
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time or The Two Thrones
Psi-Ops
Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow, and Chaos Theory

I keep everything I've ever owned at one time on there.  It serves to remind me not to give my newer games up when I beat them, because I inevitably regret it later.

I posted this on the Ask Gamespot! board by accident.  I wanted to get some more discussion, so I copied it over:

So the 80's song pack for Guitar Hero was officially announced today, and there's already rumors about a metal song pack coming out. These are great ideas from a money-making standpoint, and no doubt it'll be fun and amusing to play most of these songs.

But I wonder how good any of the music from any of these add-ons will be. Sure, there's some stinkers in GH and GH2, but there's also classics like Freebird and Smoke on the Water. Would Neversoft save their best stuff for the proper GH sequels, or might they put some classics in these add-ons? I would love to play "Master of Puppets", which is both metal and from 80's, any way that I can get it, but I would expect the developers would probably throw it in Guitar Hero before slapping it with the the 80's or metal tracks like "I Ran" or "Holy Diver".

Anyone else having this problem. It has been 3 days and half my emblems are gone. If any MODs are looking, could you please check into this for me :-)Kalionix

Mine come and go, primarily the good taste and serious collection emblems.  I had this problem in the past, and it cleared itself up in a couple of weeks.  You should post this to the website help forum, though.  Mod's can't do anything about it; you should tell the Gamespot technical support staffers.
