If I'm going based off how you put together the written word, you're already more articulate and clear than many native English speakers. So keep at it, you're well on your way. Congrats.
@drunk_pi: Wow... I predicted what argument you would use next... then you used it... and now your original point is moot. Jesus.
This clearly isn't going anywhere. We can just agree to disagree.
@N30F3N1X: It's almost as if these people are so scared of violence and death (both inherent to life) that they would rather throw away all means to protect themselves, their family, their friends and innocent bystanders, then jam their heads in their asses and hope all the evil goes away. It is the definition of naive.
You don't fight evil by hiding from it, wishing it away and giving up your means to defense. It's so fuuuuuuuuuuuuucking stupid.
@PraetorianMan: A well-crafted bomb can cause significantly more damage than an AR-15. They're not hard to make if you're intent on causing maximum damage. Why do you think IEDs are so effective?
@LJS9502_basic: Yes, it does happen. What's your point? The argument seems to be, don't give teachers guns, because something bad and accidental 'might' happen. Yeah, something might happen, we live in a dangerous and unpredictable world. This recent shooting should prove that much.
How about the assistant football coach and security guard Aaron Fies who used himself as a human shield to save the lives of children? I'd argue that him having a gun would have probably given him a better chance to fight back and put down the SOB, rather than heroically sacrificing himself.
So what are you arguing? That accidents should never happen? Never gonna get rid of that.
And if you're gonna say that those cop shootings weren't accident, but because of some ubiquitous anti-black policing policies, then it kinda makes your entire point moot, since we're debating about teacher's guns accidentally going off. So, which is it?
@cainetao11: Why would them being armed inherently make their quality plummet?
Hell, I'll even take back a point, namely that it should be mandatory. Why not let teachers willing to carry and train do it, and then fill the gap with more security?
