I dont know why, but I´m getting tired of Snake and Big Boss. Just give us a Metal Gear Solid game with Gray Fox as the protagonist to tell the story from where it was left off in Peace Walker, up to MG and MG2 (for MSX), from his point of view.

@enriK233 I have to say though, if Metal Gear Solid games that play like the 4th entry in the franchise took advantage of the so called base structures filled with all the things you listed, it would be great! MGS4 glimpsed that with the final act, but it was too short...

There should be an editorial about when developers worked with limitations by creating game mechanics that defined a game´s genre appeal, like for example, the puzzle stealth gameplay of Metal Gear Solid and MGS2:

- the need to press against a wall to change the point of view, forced us to study enemy patterns so that we could advance. (imposed by a classic staple of the series, the top down view)

- areas werent too big but had their own quirks to go unnoticed and without guard interaction, like hanging over a rail, choosing the proper box for the location. (to better control camera´s positioning according to the area and allowing a silky smooth frame rate)

- the structure wasnt linear, which allowed a great navigation system with the box, and could be further opened up by card key levels. (to recycle assets and incentive exploration)

- etc.

Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4 felt a bit too much like 3rd person shooters, I wish they made a classic Metal Gear game for the 3DS like the first 2, complete with the so much fun VR Missions, even if it feels like a step back from modern standards. The AC!D games held up pretty nicely for portable games.

I cant believe the DSi XL was the same price as the 3DS, or the other way around. It goes to show how uninformed I was... In any case, this will be great news for those who want to enjoy a vast library on a sexier system in design (sorry 3DS) and possibly Pokemon Black 2/White 2.
