Remember when Jurassic Park got The Lost World and Jurassic Park III with a similar reception spanning more years? What happened when Jurassic World came about and people enjoyed it despite the classic that it wasn't? Yeah, Fallen Kingdom didn't live up to its hype, although it was more consistent with the previous one. So why do we need The Matrix 4?
The first boot the series up with a program, the second took us through recursion, while the third ended on a loop, so what the series needs now is a reboot, although not in the classic sense of the word because the concept itself works without changing the cast of characters. It has the potential to do so in a Days of Future Past kind of narrative.
I think this is great. Got tired of his exagerated gritty tone and overdone mumbling. Let's hope the next voice actor is a natural badass xD To be honest, the only thing this game needs is to pull a MGS1 (Playstation) on us: - Small references to the previous material, to minimize the convoluted story that came to be up until this point. (Snake got over The Boss in Peace Walker, let her rest in peace, please). Also: - New direction in terms of themes, downplaying the Japanese fan service and building a mature espionage story with technological liberties; - New voice actors and a better script, to avoid stuff like Otacon's crying, that french woman in Peace Walker getting excited over birds; - New soundtrack moving away from the classic tunes that we got familiar with in MGS, MGS2 and MGS3. Peace Walker did that and it was brilliant.
I've played Anniversary =) But one of my favourite is still Angel of Darkness. There's a community trying to complete Angel of Darkness by decompiling stuff that was hidden in the CD and hacking the new abilities into the game. There's a whole new section for the first level that gives you a different choice for completion. It's only worth watching if you're played the game as it was though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJOZzywB_58
As the main character of this game, I have to laugh at Kojima's concern over mature content! As if he handled those kind of themes well before... Face it people, he's just an overrated story teller, who happens to make great games!
@metroidhunterx @l3igl3oss No wide-screen, high definition and availability for PS3 makes me a sad panda :( Though the games still look good, I might buy myself an XBOX just to try those.
@juboner Actually, I think SEGA did everything just right, games-wise (there's no way I would consider SEGA CD and 32x good decisions). They responded to almost everything that Nintendo had put out on the SNES, from graphics (Vectorman - Donkey Kong Country, Sonic 3D - Super Mario RPG), to gameplay (Streets of Rage - Final Fight, Sonic the Hedgehog - Super Mario), even when coming up with their own original creations like Super Fantasy Zone, Bonanza Bros., Toejam and Earl, Ecco the Dolphin. SEGA was spot-on!
