I’m more than happy with my RTX 2080. It’s a beautiful thing at 1440p on a 144hz gsync monitor. Expensive yeah, but I sure remember a few years of over inflated prices for GTX cards because of bitcoin. I would rather pay $700 for a RTX 2080 than $800 or more for a GTX 1080.

I agree with his opinion, except for the liberal part. I’m a liberal, i also think Islam and the west are incompatible in every way.
You should try Forza Horizon 4, Battlefield 5 and others at 144 fps, you may want to give up consoles forever dispite missing out on some exclusive titles. Of course you would need to invest some coin in a good pc though . The quest for ultra settings and 144 FPS is not cheap ?.
This year I upgraded my PC. I was happy at 1080p / medium high settings/ 6o fps, but decided to up my game to 1440p, ultra settings/ 144hz.
$850 RTX2080
$260 I5 8600k
$125 16 gb ddr4 ram
$150 atx mobo
$300 24 inch 1440p /144hz monitor
As you can see, not cheap.
I love my gaming experience on this PC. Currently it’s my primary platform for games and VR. Hopefully it will remain ahead of the curve for a few years. I really don’t expect the next gen consoles to to compete with my current rig.
But, if I do want a next gen console it will only cost me about $400, and I suspect the general population would rather buy a $400 console that will probably come “close” to approximating a PC like mine , in a general sense.
Well, I bought a new video card recently and it came with 3 free games , one of which is Anthem. This is a game I would never buy based on review scores, but I’m enjoying it a whole lot more than I was expecting. Scores from reviewers are so subjective that you can’t rely on them.
I did have to have my case modified for the card to fit, it was about 3 inches too long. So I had someone cut out and remove unused drive bays to make room.
Success. The new MSI 2080 card works like a champ. Seems like a better made card than the EVGA card. Now I’m a happy camper.
I have had Grand Tourismo Sport since launch. I have not warmed up to it. I appreciate the graphics and detail but not the gameplay.
My go to racers have been Forza 7, Horizon 3 and 4, the Dirt and Dirt Rally Series. And Grid Autosport, all on PC of course.
For some reason, the GT seri has always bored me.
