yeah but the Wii has no weather channel.

To be a weather channel you have to have up to the minute updates for your location, the Wii Forcast channel doesn't update often enough to tell you the current conditions.

Hi everyone:

I would like your opinion. What is it with Nintendo that everything needs to be its own channel? Some examples:

Why aren't the forcast channel and News channel the same channel. Not only is it common for people to find out the forcast in their morning news and newspapers. The forcast channel isn't anything special that requires its own channel at all.

Why isn't Everybody Votes an option on the Mii Channel. It seems odd that a simple function that lets you view and answer simple questions based on Mii avatars needs to be its own channel. This could easily go in the Mii channel as a side option. Check Me Out Channel should be an add on to the Mii channel as well.

My theory is that Nintendo wanted to keep the channels from being to complicated. Looking at the PS3 XMB its easy to see how its possible to get lost in options. However their approach shows a lack of innovation and organization and makes it the least appealing Next Gen O/S for a console I have seen. Is anyone else tired of all these channels that aren't good enough to stand on their own?

I have beyond oasis and I have to say its total weak sauce.  Not worth the download at all, there is almost no story, the controls get frustrating later in the game when you have to do lots of jumping, bosses are weak, magic is weak, weapons are a joke, items and leveling is underwhelming.

I got the wii this past christmas. I loved it, had a blast, but now it doesnt seem like much fun. It is collecting dust, and is rarely played, when I do play its usually gc games. All of this is causing me to consider selling the wii, please give me some good reasons to keep my wii.Dr_DudeMan

It sounds to me like you wanted a PS3 or 360 and got a Wii, tried to make the best of it and now are at ends with the console.

I say if its not your cup of tea get a different console.  No worries, you can always rebuy a wii later if you are in to it again.

Not much for RPG's on the horizon. Practically nothing in fact. Hopefully some announcements will start popping up soon. This brings back memories of the GC. A lack of RPG's was the worst part of owning a GC, and I fear it will be the same for the Wii.
This consol practically begs to be your "other system" by not having a strong RPG library.
Does this bother anyone else?Conjuration

Its too early to tell, good RPG's can't be rushed.  The games are too long and involving, wait til holiday of 2008 to suggest RPG's being weak on the system.

Hello

I was wondering why is it (still) so hard to get a nintendo wii? Is this suposed to be some kind of marketing strategy or its just they build like 2 per day?
lownoise1976

There are two answers which are both correct

SHORT ANSWER:

Any gamer really looking isn't trying hard enough to get the system.  They aren't camping, talking with retialers and other connections to see when product is in stock and available for purchase.

LONG ANSWER:

The Wii is appealing to more than the core gaming audience that Nintendo usually faces at the launch of its consoles.  Mostly do to the success of DS and its ranging demographic.  The appeal for the Wii has risen.  Its priced consumer friendly and is easy for everyone to pick up and play.  Aside from that its not just popular here in the North American market, but in Europe and Japan as well.  Nintendo is making 1million to 1.2 million per month, but that is divided by 3 and then divided even more by country or region depending on the market.

NO GAME!

We have already see first hand how bad games are that have tacked on wii controls, I would rather see new games in a series rather than ports with tacked on controls.

No.

No.

No one will ever know this.  Nintendo doesn't release a schedule until the day of the release.  Pointless question.

[QUOTE="tomarlyn"]I disagree with nearly everything you said about online. Yeah there are some benefits offline has over but it works both ways. Wii Sports would always be better offline with friends, but games of Halo 2`s and Battalion War`s nature demand online (especially anything large scale with multiple players). Bottom-line Wii needs on-line.

Would you rather have a good single player and some offline multiplayer or some online support that was an after thought?

Think about your example of halo 2.  How long has that been out, if online was so compelling why are people still playing halo 2 when there are plenty of next gen shooters out there online?  makes you wonder, some games may work well with online but not all and most don't even come across well.

plus you have to know about Nintendo games.  They acutally make other games besides FPS's and shooting games in general, would those titles benefit from online?

I don't see where batallion wars had enough depth to warrant online play either.
