AI since 2000. It doesn't abuse me when I beat it, or want to chat in the heat of battle, or get pissed off at every single little thing. It gives me a competitive (if not impossible) battle on the highest levels, and lets me win on the lower levels. I'm totally happy with it, and I thank the people that designed it.

Blitzkrieg. The original. The reason it was so good, it was like the real thing. First the guns, and Stukas, then you moved in with your tanks and infantry as the guns moved up. The guns are the best part of this game.

@jun_aka_pekto: My computer should be able to handle it. It's pretty new, it's got a i5 and 8 gigs of ram, and an nvidia GTX 950 card. It manages to play everything on it so far, so it should handle this game, I hope.

I just found out that there's a Blitzkrieg 3 out. Where have I been living, under a rock. I've got to get it. This is going to be better than sex. Sorry old girl, your going to have to go and stay at your mothers for a while. I'm going to be very busy.

@joseph_mach:

I had a look on their site, and maybe that could be an answer to my problem. Plus they must work because when I was on Origin playing another older game, one of the Command and Conquer games I noticed that they were offering Medal of Honor Pacific War for free. So I snapped that up and started playing it until I got stuck in that bloody sunken battleship, and couldn't find a way out of it. It was great to see that it played. So how come they will play on their game site but not on my computer after I load them? I suppose there's an easy explanation, but you have to be a bit of a computer geek to understand it.

Never heard of it. I'll have a look and see what I'll have to do. I suppose it's a bit like Steam where if they have it, you can play games through their forum, and they're usually playable?

What a game that was, I enjoyed many hours playing it. It's very dated by today's time based standards, but still a good one. Codename Panzers P1 even better.

While enjoying playing games on my new computer running windows 10, I miss playing many of my old games over again. Anything old just won't play, or even load in some cases. The new stuff is ok, but it all seems to be future science fiction type of stuff, or dragons and sword fighting. I miss playing my old WW2 games that seem to be out of fashion these days. Games like Blitzkrieg, Panzer elite action, Stalingrad, Rush for Berlin, Codename Panzers Phase 1. Although Steam has CP phase one on their site for a small price, but many say it won't play, so I'm a bit hesitant.

I find it a bit of a suck the way I'm supposed to just give up on these older games, that I really enjoyed playing, and want to play again. These new operating systems should allow for older games to be played on them, without a person having to be an operating system geek to get them going. The only game that will play is Order of War.

I think that I'm going to have to fire up my old 2003 Dell computer running Windows XP that incidentally still works like a dream so I can replay my old favorites. What a drag having to do that in this day and age.

@AFBrat77:

Well for a start the ones I mentioned in my comments, but I expect many other old ones not to play either. If you are a geek then you may have the knowledge to be able to adjust the system to enable these older games to work, and there are you-tube videos on how to do it. But if your just a user like I am, then you will be a bit scared to delve into making setting changes in your operating system for fear of some sort of system failure, that then needs to be fixed.

Well I'm 56, and have been playing pc games for a while now, a long while. Mostly I prefer the strategy games on WW2. Blitzkrieg, CN Panzers, PE Action and the like, as WW2 is my passion. As some have said, take a break. I have found that taking a break for a few weeks or longer refreshers the mind, and gives you a new found enthusiasm when you return. I found that I needed to take a break after playing all the theaters of battle in Napoleon Total war. It took me over 10 months to get it all played, and I loved it.

The only thing about PC gaming that pisses me off, is that many of my old games won't play on my new computer running windows 10. The only way I can play my old games is to fire up my old dell computer, running windows xp again, that actually still works as good as the day I first bought it way back in 2003. It's a pain having to do this, and not being able to play them on my new one. It did let me play Order of War though. Thankfully.
