@jackamomo:

Yeah I'll just wait until GOG get round to having it. There's always plenty of other games to be getting on with. I'm in the middle of Ultimate General at the moment, a really good American Civil war game.

@dire_raven:

I've never even heard of them. I'll just google them up see what they are.

Thanks

@origin444: The problem I find with that and most of the rest of those games is the duel things that you have to do while playing them. I would much rather spend my energies on winning the battles, instead of the endless base building and protection of them that is constantly needed in these games. I find too much time is needed defending the bloody things. That's what ruins those games, for me anyway.

Definitely game-play before anything else. Music last, actually why even have the music at all? The first thing I do with any game I play is to mute the music before I do anything else. It has always been a mystery to me why the music is even there in the first place. Nothing more annoying than having that blaring out when I'm playing a game. I just love the action and gun sounds.

Personally when I first got into gaming, I played online against people and found it unenjoyable. People moan when you beat them, sometimes just want to talk a lot of crap while playing, and are just downright rude most of the time. I gave up playing against people, and now only play against the games AI, and it's great, I no longer have to put up with the crap, and can just enjoy the game without putting up with all the nonsense.

If you aren't enjoying gaming anymore, give what I'm doing a go, and you may find yourself enjoying it again.

Does anyone out there still play PANZER ELITE ACTION. FIELDS OF GLORY ? I used to love playing this game, but since getting my new computer using Windows 10, I can forget that. I looked on GOG and no go there. They have something similar, but with really dated graphics, and painful game play, it just wasn't the same. I found it on STEAM, but found that it was just another game that they sold without bothering to check that it would work or not. So no luck there either. For anyone that hasn't played it, it is great, at the end of it you go up against Michael Wittmann the famous WW2 German tank ace. I still have the original cd but it looks like the makers JoWood went out of business years ago, and no longer support it. So any ideas on the subject would be much appreciated.

If you're into strategy games then I would recommend Napoleon Total War. I loved it so much that I played every scenario in it. It took me a year to do it.

The thing that I hate the most about any game is when you have to do something within a time limit. I absolutely hate it, I like to do something in my own time. I find for me it just takes the enjoyment out of the whole thing.

Well here's something that I have been finding lately, when do you stop gaming? I am getting people saying to me, oh are you still doing that, as if it's something that I should have stopped doing years ago. I have been gaming since the late 90s. Of course I was a lot younger then, now I'm 58 and still doing it, and to tell the truth I really never though about when I would ever stop playing games, well up until recently because of the remarks from people about it. My reply to most people is that I would rather be doing what I'm doing than what your doing, ie watching reality crap on TV like all those god awful talent shows, and never ending cooking programs. You couldn't pay me to watch them.

Thank god for the pc, and NVIDIA of course.

@snyderm49:

Yeah that aces game was ok. I used to play what I found to be a better one in Air Warrior. You would fly missions over Europe in a B17 bomber, bombing coastal targets in France, and then moving on to Germany and bombing Berlin, all the while fighting off fighters and avoiding flak. I used to spend hours playing it, days (weeks) even. I loved every minute of it. If GOG ever remake that game like they have with a lot of other older games then it's going to be a case of goodbye wife, I'm going to be busy for a couple of months. Panzer Elite Action was another great game.
