I do IT in the corporate world and we have a few 10+ year old dell workstations that run 24-7-365 on battery backups , amazing considering if you ever crack open a dell they use mid tier bare bones motherboards and power supplies to save costs ....our last set of servers ran for 13 years non stop, redundant power supplies and raid 10 quick release drives

Crysis compares well to games coming out today, I think graphics advances have become stagnant due to consoles plus graphics are almost lifelike as it is now

I used to have about 200+ games but Ive reduced it down to about 20 , ones that I cant live without. I used to go on buying sprees and would start a game but it didn't hold my interest long enough to finish it . I am extremely selective now, before I make a purchase I will research a game for a month before I decide..so much wasted money down the drain . I also take months off of not playing anything so then I forget what I was doing in a particular game, then have to retrain myself

reinsert the ram to make sure its fully seated, sounds like the motherboard however I would also check the power supply to make sure it's providing the correct power ….Ive seen more problems with power supplies in old computers than any other part

I didn't like the idea of steam at first but I have fully embraced it years ago, no need for a dvd rom drive or having to use the disc just to play the game . I used to have a couple hundred cds/dvd game discs but have culled 99% of them in favor of online purchases, I have also done this with my music collection as well and wouldn't want to go back

for realistic shooters all I play anymore is arma II or III .... 3 for me runs pretty smooth but 2 has more mods as of right now.... I like the old ghost recons including advanced war fighter series but arma surpasses them easily in my book

early 80s I had an atari 2600 then shortly discovered the commodore 64, blown away that you could actually write your own games which I did ...loved track and field. Later on around 2000 playing quake III team arena, MAX PAYNE, then UT 2004 then half life 2... I actually built a computer specifically for doom 3 which was coming out around the same time so half life 2 blew me away and loved it but hated doom 3.....My all time favorite moments is when I tried battlefield 2 demo in 2005, instantly hooked and to this day is my favorite game and still play it in single player mode. My favorite time in gaming history would be 1997- 2007 , I still have alot of those games installed ....alot of the franchises today have been milked dry for me, burned out. My fav modern game would be skyrim, hated it at first then forced myself to keep playing it and now think it's a masterpiece ( Im not really into role playing type games).

Ive been running windows defender only with windows 8-10 , any kind of new window pop up and I shut down the browser via task manager ...no issues so far and I have everything backed up in triplicate in case something does sneak through
