Might be worth it for getting titles on the cheap, but I already have a Wii that's back-compatible, instead of only having downloads.

Apart from some of the elitist crap here, there's been a lot of good points made. The PC is the longest running 'system' out there, and it shows. There's a massive amount of things you can do with it, and the possibilities are near endless. Plus, you get like a million games all in one place, usually without having to switch discs. What's not to like? =)

Takes me back to how they were portrayed in FF7, the first example that I know of, and the obvious allusion to the manga Berserk. From the beginning they've been portrayed pretty bad. These aren't common-place items to be used by random emo-boys, these are huge chunks of iron that could only have been built for a single purpose. To kill huge friggin' things. Take a toothpick against a dragon, and you're going to get killed.

Scrolls, scrolls, scrolls,scrolls, scrolls,scrolls, scrolls.

Anyways, stupid, stupid stupid. These companies and their suits never make sense, and obviously are suggested by lawyers to pretty simple businessmen who think they might get a quick buck.

Wow, this argument's been played over so many times I didn't even need to read the thread to know what's happening. Here's the deal: Graphics don't really matter that much, but then again, you guys probably aren't using the term the same way I do. I am referring to graphics capabilities, and most often, these add nothing (Although, I will admit that the new Frostbite stuff is pushing some boundaries on animation that I've been waiting to be pushed for quite awhile). Meanwhile, aesthetics, or what in some cases is called art, matters a lot more. There are games from back in the 90's that look a hundred times better than those now due to good color balance, and art, and if you look at the games that do this now, they can run the gamut from GPU-intensive to requiring almost nothing, it just depends on what kind of style they're going for.

Now, arbitrarily demanding better 'graphics' is just going to confuse the game industry, and make people think they need to put more money into technical capabilities, when really, they should be hiring more artists, or putting more money into the gameplay or writing. These are the areas that need improvement right now. Graphics is a side concern at the moment. People were being held back in the 90's with poor graphics, but not anymore.

I regularly take small breaks from gaming, and go to other forms of media, such as Anime, western shows, literature, or music. Keeping a cycle like this up keeps me from going insane.

I can see how it might be really easy, but you'd have to be trying to break the game to do that. It's been known for more than a decade that an uber-sniper is the best possible build in any Fallout game, and that hasn't changed. Just try a different build out for once and give yourself a challenge.

No, but I am getting quite sick of people who can't look behind a few aesthetics, or even worse, technical graphics capability. These games are far more often creative than the stupid AAA titles out there, so there's no reason at all they should be punished for taking budget away from graphics and putting it into much-needed art, gameplay and story.

[QUOTE="MaskJackal"]

I'll try it, but I'm not expecting much.

[QUOTE="Starshine_M2A2"]

It's too close to Games Workshop. That's the reason I don't play it...

Howso? In that it is a very expensive hobby, that is quite rewarding if you don't play it with dicks? No, wait that can't be it, it's free...

It just has the same vibe that's all. It rubs me the wrong way.

Well, I don't exactly get where you can say that, it's completely different in just about every way possible. Keep on keeping on if it gives you some comfort though.
