So like, I hate to try and throw this thread back on track and all, but what the heck is the problem with running Mac software on any rig? A computer is just a bunch of parts that work together, and as long as those parts are compatable with OS X and XP / Vista I don't see a problem. And if that is true, Newegg would solve all his problems. Alas, I don't know compy specs all that well, and don't know what parts to buy at all.

And if you all are even woried about this guy not having the "Plug and Play" aspect of Mac's by building one, remember for just a second that he is actually building his own comp in the first place. In my experience, anyone that builds their own rig ususaly dosen't need the "It Just Works" crap at all, they already know how to troubleshoot their own problems.

Due to a tragic Shaving Cream accident (my roomate is currently in a feud with someone down the hall), I now have to find a way to completely clean my old Wavebird controller but have never had to do this with ANY controller before. The nintendo website says to use a Toothbrush and hot water, but I remember hearing that rubbing alcohol is a better solution as long as you use it sparaingly, give the thing time to dry, and actually have one of those Nintedo screwdrivers.

Anyone done this before that could throw me some tips? I'm all ears here.

I know i'm probably hoping for alot, but I really hope that the screen is of the well at the bottom of the spiral in Shadow of the Colossus. Continuing that story, or at least linking it to the the ICO story (like it's supposed to) would be super awesome. Plus, I hope this game has a vague an ending as the one in Shadow. Half the fun of that game was beating it, and then discussing with others what they thought actually happened. So many possible stories, so many possible reasons for the Main Characters actions.

Meh, you people can have your "Hardcore" title. In reality it's just another group of people trying to put down people they consider their inferiors.

I consider myself an Aficionado of Video Games. I play games simply because I love them, not so I can show off, or claim superiority. You "Hardcore" and "Casual" gamers can keep fighting this one out, but when you decide you just love playing video games, come and enjoy them with the Aficionados

I think all these people asking about "X" TV or which TV is better need to invest in either

a) a new computer monitor, so that the FIRST POST can be read more clearly

b) a class in "Reading Comprehension", so that the FIRST POST can be read more clearly

or

c) all of the above

This isn't the thread to post your problems in people! This is a thread of links. (cause knowledge is power!)

Does no one actually read the OP anymore? He didn't say anything about them fighting, he wants to know if we truly consider those 3 characters the "Main" mascots. Reading Comprehension people.

Firstly, Mario is most definately Nintendo's #1 Mascot, and the best of the 3 simply because he is the most famous character in the world (more recognized then Mickey Mouse) (unless of course you think Jesus is a character, then he would be second). If the XBox has a mascot, it would definatly be Master Cheif, simply because he's the reason people bought a 360 in the first place. And as for PS3 ... they have no mascot. It used to be Crash Bandicoot, but in the end they found out they didn't need one. They just had to get all the other companies mascots to be exclusive (Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, etc...)

Lastly, Mario + Invincibility Star = Dead everyone.

[QUOTE="yellowandmushy"]It turns out the characters are console specific. PS3 gets Vader, 360 gets Yoda.Medic_B

Yoda >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Vader

another win for 360 :P

I have this strange feeling that Yoda is gonna be super cheap due to his size advantage. At least, I hope he's not. Otherwise it's gonna be like Oddjob in Goldeneye --> a super noob character.

I saw it posted somewhere else, so it must be posted here.

Xbox 360 = Light Side

PS3 = Dark Side

I think i'm slipping to the Dark Side on this one.

I will say one thing, that I am sure will be brushed over by eager posters to quick post "GeArZ is Teh awesoemzz" or "GearZ uz a tuurd".

Crysis has indeed, ruined one aspect of gaming for me, mainly the part where graphics impress me now. For instance, I have beat Crysis on both hard and Delta settings now, and just recently loaded up CoD4 to play. While the game is pretty, the graphics just don't impress me as I think they should have. The same can be said for Uncharted: Drakes fortune as well. Just getting back from christmas at home I watched my roomate beat the whole game, and yet again while it was pretty the graphics just didn't wow me. Sure he gets wet when he gets out of the water, and explosions look pretty, but I feel that nothing is going to compare to Crysis in sheer graphics for a while (but when that game comes, I hope I can play it).

Now don't get me wrong, CoD4 is fun as hell, and I can't wait to actually play Uncharted myself (I'm a sucker for anything that resembles a Indiana Jones / Romancing the Stone story). I just feel that now I grade games on a different scale. For now I feel that nothing will graphically be superior to Crysis, so I'm starting to grade games sheerly on fun factor.

Oh, and for the TC, Gears was great a year ago when it came out. It's an arcade-y style over the shoulder shooter, and is alot of fun in co-op mode on the hardest setting. Get a friend, and play through on hardcore. It's a blast.

And lastly (yeah, I lied about the one thing) Jumping is not useless in FPS's. It adds an entire new depth to the game. Just look at TF2 where Rocket / Grenade jumps, the Scout's double jump, and the Engineer's ability to jump on top of his own buildings to get to new heights change how entire stages are played out. Another degree of freedom is nice, especially in a multiplayer game.

So I got this mouse for christmas (heck of a suprise mind you) and have thouroughly enjoyed it so far, but have recently been running into some problems. Firstly, the mouse seems to be randomly recording macros on me (found this out when it freaked out in a game of TF2, and had me losing control of my character). Then, all of a sudden my "Quicklaunch" button (the little button that opens the windows Game Menu is Vista) just stopped working. I know that the button isn't all that super, but it helped get rid of some desktop clutter and I
