[QUOTE="sepheronX"]and you are trusting the INQ? They are known to eat their own words in the end of the day when the item does come out. Like their rumor of DX9.0L as a DX 10 based essential for XP..............

NO, its true. There will be AGP video cards. The 8600's will all have AGP versions.

OK, I believe you (somewhat) but all I can say is "Time will tell".  If you are right (in this case, the so-used-to lying INQ) then it will be good for the people who are too lazy to spend at least 40 bucks more and buy a new motherboard (people, you can sell your old equipment, there are plenty of people who will buy it!).

the EVGA one can be had at NCIX for around 130 bucks (I would go find it, but im lazy).

As for this, do not, DO NOT get XFX.  I have dealt with XFX tech support, and its horrible.  Let me tell you 1 thing in the PC world.

"The XFX cards may be cheaper and comes with a game, but to have good customer support, that is priceless.  And unfortunartly, XFX has poor service, so EVGA is the best to go".

With EVGA, they will RMA fast and send you a replacement before you send the dud back, so no blame game.  Also, EVGA tends to have better stock coolers then XFX, were XFX says as a poor excuse when the gpu stock cooler is not providing enough cooling "It isnt our fault, its Nvidia's!".  I got so angry that my xfx7900gs xt was underperforming and artifacting just because of their incompetence.  I was dealt in the end with having to buy an aftermarket cooler. 20 bucks and 1 day later, my xfx 7900gs xt is running at 41 idle, at 600/800 speeds.

Moral of the story.  If you are gonna play around with hardware and overclock, EVGA is the way to go.

Oh and BTW, XFX tells you that you void warranty if you replace their POS stock cooler.  In my case it was either 1) let my card burn out and have to deal with horrible RMA service or 2) put on aftermarket cooler, have it last much longer, but lose crappy RMA from XFX

so euorpeans allow **** but no blood? I guess its legal to run in your birthday suit in Paris during daytime?

I dunno but its funny here, both in Canada and America, they allow us to see the blood and violence and all this, but censor the swearing and the boobie.

and do not forget, the 350w is only if the system is already at full load (or almost). I can almost debunk the theory of getting a 500w for SLI based cards.

SKYMTL's Budget PSU roundup

Why do I trust that review? probably because he used the same equipment that Johnny Guru uses, which is what most professional companys (which SKY owns in montreal) that tests PSU's with Oscilloscope (to measure the ripple).

this test shows that a enermax 400w PSU can almost handle the 7900GTO's at SLI.

uber cooling? the cooler cost me 20 bucks!

Second, why not overclock? its simple, and without a dought, easy to do! Also, the x1950pro seems to get a lot of praise from some sites as others don't. Out of experience, the card seems to performe exactly like what these guys say:
Xtreview

The card is good for sure, at stock settings, it performes better, by sometimes a lot or not. But once the 7900gs is overclocked, the x1950pro just cannot keep up with it.

Now, time for me to get ready to volt mod my 7900gs, so I can get it past GTX speeds, and have it performe very very well!

heck, go get the pre-overclocked 7900gs KO from EVGA, great performance, can probably beat out the x1950pro at stock speeds, and it is considered stock speeds on the 7900gs KO.  Go get XG drivers too, great drivers.  I am about to review the latest 94.20 drivers from XG, against the normal drivers, and other tweaked drivers.

the x1950's are not known for overclocking, actualy, i tested out plenty myself.

As for me, my 7900gs xt, is overclocked at 600/800, running at 41 degrees celcius on a cheap Zalman CU 700 cooler, at medium fan speed, and very much outperformes the x1950pro video card.  Also, optimized drivers for the nvidia card provide better image quality and performance.

anyway, why do people think it is dieing?  I mean, while playing a game, you could make yourself some food at the same time in the same unit, with THIS:
