aside from Titanfall I do not really see a console defining game for the xbox. instead of saying that we have the best launch lineup in history they should just say we have the most anticipated game right now.
and by the way, Titanfall is not a launch title, nor is it exclusive. Hence, the launch lineup claims are quite a bit of a stretch.
this is awesome news. a linux based OS geared specifically for gaming. lets hope all game developers get behind this and that we are able to play existing games as well.
@WantYouBad @outlawoftorn @Gatts1978 That is another sweeping statement.
Dota 2 and Team Fortress use very effective free 2 play models where the only things you can spend money on are superficial character skins etc which do not affect gameplay at all.
Planetside 2 (a Sony game which will come to PS4) gives you the option to purchase new weapons but these weapons are not outright better than the free ones. Further, you accumulate points while playing and it does not take a lot of time to have enough to get new weapons. I have never spent a dollar and am extremely competitive. It also lets you try out all weapons in a training room so you can specialize and get what you need. Its an excellent game, probably the best MMO FPS out there right now.
So yes, there are a lot of successful free 2 play models out there. The very best f2p games can be enjoyed without every paying a dollar.
if they implement the free 2 play model correctly, then this could be great.
SOE did a great job in planetside 2's free2play model, where if you have skill you can beat anyone regardless of the weapons they have. the base weapons are good enough and you can choose to specialize in a particular class and really be as competitive as a paying member.
@Archaicc no it is actually important to know. people have been used to keeping their 360s and PS3s vertically so it is an important warning not to with the X1.
i think it just might be top heavy. its too big to begin with which would make setting it up vertically a risk of it always toppling over with the slightest of touches.
