this article is so inaccurate. that chart they link to does not include the PS4 launch edition which has already sold out and is still ahead of the xbox alone, disregarding all other PS4 SKUs. here is the link they should look at:

kind of ironic to say but Microsoft (being a software company at heart) is itself a virus. they are bringing their bad practices from Windows into the gaming world. there should be a concerted effort to block them from this world.

@caucel_cr the bottom line in that article is that the xbox one hardware was designed for a wider audience i.e. kinect users and tv watchers while the PS4's was designed for high-end gaming.

lets hope the xbox one doesn't drag games down when it comes to cross-platform titles!

seeing that playstation plus membership is now required to enable online play...i think it will be less financially viable for people to keep both consoles (i.e. both a live and a plus membership). hence i think weirdly enough the charge will still work in favor of the PS4 as people will consider keeping only one and they will probably choose PS4 given things as they stand right now....wonder if it was another great strategic move by sony....

it would be interesting to know if they ever articulately reveal what the problem is with the traditional model of games...which involves easy exchange....if they are looking to introduce a new model then they should first describe what the problem is with the old one...

i think the fundamental problem is the introduction of complex rules (e.g. you have to be friends with someone for at least 30 days etc).....take the example of lan parties...you take your consoles, a bunch of screens and game discs....you hook up all of them through a switch and have awesome team matches....now you won't be able to use each other's discs or keep the consoles offline...you essentially forgo the internet at lan parties a lot of the times...

bottom line is that with all these checks its just going to ruin the ease and fluidity of gaming...will be a big step back...
