I have an old Pentium 4, and the fan on the heatsink is dying. I am trying to find a replacement heatsink with fan, and I am a little concerned about how these things mount on the motherboard.

From what I have seen different heatsinks have different mounting types. The particular heatsink I am looking at is the following one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835200029&cm_re=heatsink_478-_-35-200-029-_-Product

However, the current heatsink I have on my cpu is similar to this:

http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Copper-Core-Socket-3-40GHz/dp/B000F6UW5W

Can the mounting type be replaced on the board, or is there something else already in place? Or do I have to buy a heatsink which has the same kind of clip on mounting?

GT5 is not receiving a lot of hate. The opinions expressed on these forums and other forums, only represent a small percentage of the gaming community. All of these threads we see popping up in system wars and wherever are insignificant in comparison to the potential size of the audience GT5 could attract. Take the hate the PC version of MW2 received -- much greater that what GT5 is receiving, and yet MW2 still sold like crazy even on the PC. In other words, if you are worried about what some people are saying on these boards, don't be. No ones' opinion matters here.

Hmm, I listened to both songs posted in this thread, and they are both quality pieces, but I really didn't find either memorable or amazing. Maybe in the context of the game they would be more interesting.

That is the monitor I use with my ps3. No problems. It is a little slow to switch sources, or come out of sleep/stand-by mode. Otherwise, I don't notice any ghosting and the colors and contrast ratio are ok.

Well I'd say of course it is an arcade shooter. Are there any realistic shooters which are popular? Realistic shooting just isn't fun or appealing to the mass audience.

Although I may not be particularly interested in natal, the wand, or the wii-mote, I am glad they are there. The current implementation of motion sensing technology may be lackluster, but that's the way it has to go. Since all three companies are now placing bets on motion sensing games, that means all three companies are funneling money into improving the technology, and with time, I'm sure we will find it hard to believe that we ever played games with buttons Otherwise I feel similary about 3D. I'm pretty sure we all love 3D gaming, but we hate the implementation: head ache inducing glasses, sparse 3D content, and very gimmicky uses of 3D. If 3D worked as easily as looking at a television, I see little reason why anyone would complain. As 3D becomes mainstream, great content will follow.

If 3d Tvs which do not require glasses work as one would expect them to, then yeah, I would upgrade to a 3d television. 3d has always been a gimmick because the technology wasn't there to make it massively available. If 3d technology has reached a point were it can deliver a seamless 3d experience to a wide audience, then I'm sure quality 3d content will follow. But I've never seen one of these glasses-less 3d TVs in person, so I have no idea how well they might work.

[QUOTE="KukicAdo"][QUOTE="kimbokasteniv"]Devs ignore the pc for two reasons: the market for games is on the consoles, and it is easier to develop for a certain console than thousands of different PC setups. For me personally, I was a pretty hardcore pc gamer. Yeah, there were console games that I liked but it was not enough to make me switch. However, now that I have bought a ps3, I would say that the console experience is a much better gaming experience. To play a console game you stick the disc in the console and play. To play a PC game you install, tinkering around with settings, look around for patches, and more if anything goes wrong -- after that you play. With console gaming I don't worry whether my computer can handle a game, or whether my video card has any particular issues with the particular game. I don't have to consider upgrading every year nor do I have to consider whether the latest software update to my OS or any piece of hardware will conflict with a game. Sure, you sacrifice flexibility, and the latest graphics. But in return you get a streamlined experience where all you have to worry about is playing the game -- and when I play a game, that's all I want to do.

wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong x 10000 Developers don't develop for hundreds of different setups. LMFAO.

You are taking me too literally. I was not suggesting that a game developed for a PC would have to be modified for each possible type of PC setup. I was suggesting that a developer who makes a game for a PC would have to consider the effect any piece of available hardware or software could have on their game.
