I'm not tired of online gaming because the multiplayer modes aren't fun, I just don't like that the majority of the people you run into on xbox live are idiots. Co-op MP is a dealbreaker for me though because my wife loves gaming and I usually don't have time to play something on my own, unless it's just a great game that I MAKE time for :P

I'm wanting to research many different aspects of game development and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. What kind of forums should I be going to? Who should I be contacting? I don't necessarily want to do any free lance work or anything, I just have some ideas and I would like to know whether or not any of it is possible.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one digging Blackout. I still think Avalanche and Ghost Town look great... Big Team Battles on Avalanche would be awesome and Ghost Town looks like a nice Last Resort style level, but Blackout fits my play style the best. Last Resort is definitely my favorite H3 map though. Also, to the posters above me, I thought Valhalla was the Blood Gulch tribute map?

Are you looking forward to the most? I personally can't wait to get my hands on Blackout. Lockout was my favorite Halo map ever (even after playing through the Halo 3 maps), and I'm really excited to get back into its predecessor for nostalgia's sake. All of the levels look amazing though.

In case you live under a rock and haven't checked them out yet, here's a great video showing all 3 of them off...

The game looks phenomenal... and a lot of the work they are putting into the AI and the damage mechanics is pretty impressive. This being said, I have never played TOCA and I was severely underwhelmed by DiRT. So I suppose I'll just have to wait and see how the reviews go and go from there.

True, it uses head tracking, but it doesn't use the desktop VR display capabilities. You don't get the sense of depth through the display that you would through the program run on Johnny Lee's version.

Hmm, the thing is how do you make that look cool? I think only the most hardcore of gamers/nerds would be caught dead in something like that... even if I was around fellow gamers I wouldn't want them to see me wearing that. Imagine how casuals will feel. Its gonna have to be a Nintendo x Gucci collaboration to come out with some head gear that won't get you laughed at by everyone.Senor_Kami

ahhaha... yeah. I know what you mean. kinda like the power glove...

If you haven't seen the YouTube vid on Johnny Lee's headtracking idea with the Wiimote, go check it out now...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw

Since watching that YouTube video, I've run into this article from Engadget showing an early stage application using this concept. Here it is.

http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/26/wiimote-head-tracking-meets-first-person-shooter-die-marshies/

What are your thoughts? For me, this concept blows my mind. I can only imagine how awesome such an immersive experience would be

It would be cool if they did a flight sim game that had a portion of the game dedicated to a re-enactment of the shock and awe campaign from the beginning of the invasion in Iraq.
