@bigmidgeman: The standard edition should be discounted for Amazon Prime members, but I have no idea where Gamespot got the rest of their bogus information. Amazon never discounts collector's editions like that.
This article is nothing more than a short (3 paragraph) fluff piece to generate page views. It is inaccurate and lazy as it omits information found in other interviews and the NoClip documentary. If you want to know more about how the nukes work then get it from the source and not this garbage article.
Now the 3,000 Pokemon cloud bank sounds like a pretty good thing and might be worth a few extra bucks, but wait... We have to pay to transfer Pokemon from B/W to X/Y? What the hell? I thought transferring Pokemon was always a perk given to those who were loyal fans and who continue to buy the games generation after generation. Sad fucking day when Nintendo decides it'd rather cash in than reward loyalty...
I really hope that this is some sort of Microsoft trick. Like they realized how terribly the Xbox One was doing so they gave places like GameStop a severely limited supply. That way they'd generate some additional "buzz" when news that Xbox One was sold out started circulating.
Cloud implementation, oh goody... We saw how EA and Maxis tired to pull crap like that before. "Oh, but Sim City requires you to be always online because there are many calculations and important features being handled by the server." This cloud crap will just let any developer or publisher pull the same stunt. They will use it for maybe 1% or less of the games functionality, stuff that could have been done using the hardware itself, and then they will claim that an always on connection is required so the games have access to the cloud.
Only 5% of gamers play past-gen games on a new console? Hmm... Xbox 360 has sold over 70 million consoles world wide. So what's 5% of that? It's 3.5 million. Guess that's not enough for Microsoft to give a damn.
I tend to agree. I am actually more excited for Black Flag than I have been any other previous Assassin's Creed title. Though I believe the quality may not be the only factor. They need to keep taking us to exciting new locals. Assassin's Creed used Italy and Rome for two games, but if that had dragged on then even quality games would have been less and less interesting. But I do not see that as being a problem any time soon, because we do still have Asia left untapped, as well as many other places and time periods.
Meh... PC, Xbox, and PlayStation all have their strengths and weaknesses. Though I found myself migrating over towards PC more and more during this current generation. The games are really the same for the most part and I hardly notice a difference in graphics. I guess the only real reason for the switch is because I got addicted to Steam. However, that does beg an interesting question. How will we classify Valves "Steam Box" thing?
@FallenOneX @jayman87 @Thanatos2k Well yeah, of course they didn't. Most people use it only when they are forced to and then go right back to Steam for everything else. That's how I do it. Origins is never even running unless I am playing Battlefield 3, which is not very often these days. (Though sadly I must admit that Origins will be running more frequently on my computer starting in March. It'll be the one and only way to play SimCity...)
