Will a Vita review be coming soon?

I hope the PS4 version turns out ok as that's probably the version I'll go with. I think I'm one of the few people who actually enjoyed MLB13 on Vita last year, but I'll probably just hold onto that copy for Vita and get the PS4 version this year.

@o0squishy0o Maybe because there is no appreciable difference between versions that would warrant a mention in the review. Standard policy for game sites is only to note differences if there is an appreciable difference that would affect enjoyment.

LOL at all the desperate Sony fanboys spamming Metacritic with 0 out of 10 scores. Are they really so insecure that they feel they have to attack everything MS? I get the sense that this is less about them enjoying PS so much as simply hating MS, feeling insecure about their decision or misplaced anger that they can't afford to own both systems.

I would personally go with Fire Emblem, but I'm getting Zelda for X-mas and that might change things. Was Shin Megami Tensei IV this year? I'm also getting that one for X-mas.

@xxmavr1kxx @theamandaamazing Sigh. VGChartz? You do know that they've been proven to retroactively change their numbers after real data becomes available because VGChartz just makes these things up on the fly? GFKChart-Trax, NPD, etc. are the only somewhat reliable metrics we have as well as data from earnings reports. Everything else is just speculation.

@theamandaamazing MS has already stated that their 1 million number was sold to consumers, not distribution. 1 million is 1 million - each company just made a strategic decision to launch in the territories of their choice. MS (and Sony) could easily sell 2 million consoles each just in the US if they can get that many on shelves.

The UK is a strong entertainment market, but when you break it down specifically to video games it is slightly less so. More importantly, the US represents nearly 45% of the global video game market, while Europe combined is less than 35% (of which the UK is a third of that market). One will dominate in the US again this generation, but Sony should make a better showing of it than they did with the PS3 which was disastrous for them. In the end, both companies should do well this generation.

Did Gamespot really just use data from an online survey from its own site to try to prove a point? Anyone who understands surveys knows how notoriously unreliable web surveys are as they are so easily manipulated (by fanboys in this case). PS4 will probably slightly outsell One until Spring, but I expect things will balance out at that point (after Titanfall and more people get exposure to the actual innovations One has presented). In the end, both consoles should sell just fine this generation - the WiiU, not so much.

How this reviewer gave God Of War: Ascension an 8 and Ryse a 4 is bizarre. GoW:Ascension wasn't repetitive, didn't have "brain-dead combat" and a laughable story? I guess endless QTE's on a Sony exclusive are better somehow? I loved every GoW game up to Ascension but couldn't play more than 2 hours of Ascension before quitting; it's the definition of a game that was just phoned in.

@DemocraticTroll You're conveniently ignoring Dead Rising 3 and Forza...

I think we're seeing the sheep mentality in the game industry on this title. Cynical, jaded reviewers collectively decided they would make this their whipping boy since it was not hard-core enough for them. A 4 implies a broken game and this is anything but. The production values are among the best this industry has ever experienced and the game mechanics are solid.

More than anything, reviewers like Mark Walton are rating the game based on what it is not, rather than on it's own merits. This is a brawler - it's not a Street Fighter/long combo fighter; it's not an RPG; etc., and it should be scored for the genre it fits into. Was Journey penalized for not having enough depth and being far too short? Should Pac Man be reviewed harshly for being repetitive? No, you make it clear in the review what type of game it is and then base the score on how successfully it performs in that space. By describing the game well in the review you leave it to the reader to decide if this is their type of game and then the score tells them if it is a good game in that genre.
