It's a good thing Tom McShea has a thick skin and a good sense of humor. The poor guy always gets stuck reviewing crappy PlayStation exclusives so the PS fanboys end up blaming him for lackluster first party releases rather than placing the blame where it belongs.
Silly fanboys. 7 is a decent score - particularly for a launch title. Killzone has always been a mediocre franchise, so this shouldn't surprise anyone.
In reality, it's far more important that good games start showing up in Spring and consistently afterwards, rather than at launch. Early adopters will buy the system regardless and know that the first 6 months in a console cycle is pretty brutal.
Sony needs to worry less about a marketing checklist and more about letting developers make the choices they know are best for the game they are making. Forcing 1080p into some games (like COD:Ghosts) only results in an unstable framerate, which has a far greater impact on gaming than the negligible cosmetic difference of upscaling from a slightly lower resolution. In addition, this often allows other effects to be better incorporated (like going from 2X to 4X AA, better lighting, etc.).
@Scorpion1813 Nice try, but wrong. TOS are identical between the two and neither has any incentive to "spy" on anyone, but only provide generic demographic feedback to prospective advertisers.
Also, you don't even have to plug in the Kinect making your entire argument moot.
