The sound design is particularly eerie. Playing this in the dead of night for many hours has got to lead to some sort of damage. Looks interesting if, like others have said, it has more levels and some sort of a story???

Looks pretty interesting. I do want this. The screen is a little busy most of the time and I kind of wish the setting was more futuristic but I'll give it a go.

Earth Defense Force 2017 - the Insane difficulty setting. It has no mercy. The spiders have no mercy.

I got a game called Infernal: Hell's Vengeance which I'm slightly embarrassed to admit considering its one of the worst games on the Xbox 360 of all time. The title just does not roll well off the tongue and I don't even think it has anything to do with the content of the game. Terrible name for a terrible game does seem quite fitting though.

Shout out to Heather from Silent Hill 3. Female protagonists are practically non-existent in survival horror games so for me, she deserves a mention for all the hell she has to put up with. Literally.

Well here come the next four or five GOW games I guess. I think they need to have a complete overhaul plot wise. Spanking new everything , new threat, protagonist, just go all out and make sure the level design maintains its creativeness and do not be too afraid to go for the hardcore ridiculousness because that works in this world (yes level where you are stuck in the mouth of a big, fat worm, I am looking at you). Lancers MUST stay though. Finally, any future GOW game needs to address its fluidity in movement. Be gone the days where Marcus controls like a stiff tank trying to turn itself in gallons of tar.

Thank you for this video! I could not agree more! I want more video games trying to be video games rather than frequently borrowing conventions from films and the such. I want to see games that abuse their own mechanics in a daft and fun manner. Example, games like Conkers Bad Fur Day have only just scraped the surface of this idea; whereby the entire game is completely self aware that its a video game. Don't get me wrong, when video games portray a convincing illusion into serious subject matters, some come out supreme and memorable. But games like EDF throw that out the window and actually celebrate the fact that its silly by enhancing it constantly; its a tribute to the ridiculousness and that's the HUGE gap in this industry I can tell you.

I got ideas revolving around games based entirely on the premise of ridiculousness, self awareness, self mockery towards its plot and the mechanics of the game, complete and utter funny nonsense - conventions I feel are lacking in this beautiful industry that I care so much about. I would love to share these ideas someday with a developer or something. These kinds of games should not be reserved just for the Indie scene.

But their just isn't enough risk being taken. Developers finding one world that works and bleeding it for about fifty thousand sequels/prequels/equals; making up the story to construct their video game into a franchise. Developers be brave! And unleash your inner sillyness.

Again, great video and I cannot literally wait for EDF 2025!!!

Interesting. I think I might have to see a little more gameplay. I like games that exploit the mechanics of video games and it seems like that's what this is going for but I'm not too sure yet aha. Its got a subversive humour about it as well. One thing though, that graphical style is just not appealing anymore.

What a fantastic demonstration! I hope the finished product lives up exactly to its title and that the survival horror remains harsh and dreaded. If Creative Assembly pull this off, it will be evidence that creating games from films can be achieved enjoyably and I only wish more games would borrow ideas/worlds from films rather than butcher them (Insert Colonial Marines here).

My only initial worry is the length of the game could be potentially short, but as long as the developers keep the survival horror elements cranked beyond peak, it should be great.

Extremely excited for this one! The Alien franchise seems to be finally in some good hands. Please don't let us down lool.
