you know that Watch Dogs Bundle Pack Sweepstakes. i already do have a Playstation 4 and it is the best and i mean, it's the greatest ever anyhoo if i win, guess what I am going to do with the Playstation 4.. i have (3) adorable nephews... Korbin (5), Karson (3), and Kashton (1)... my sweet nephew, korbin always looks up to me so if i win and i want to say good luck to everybody who entered... if i win i am going to give the Playstion 4 to Korbin because I always let him play my Xbox 360 and my Playstion 3 when he comes... Watch Dog might be too volent for him but he loves Spiderman so I am going to buy him The Amazing Spiderman for the Playstation 4 if I win....
Before I go i want to wish everybody that entered the sweepstakes the BEST of LUCK to all...
Looks better than say, Sleeping Dogs I suppose. It's no GTA 5 however and that is pretty damn shocking considering this is CURRENT GEN visuals lol. Needs more kung fu fighting/running over pedestrians and less tedious hacking gimmick.
I have been so torn if I should be excited for this game. Even had it on pre-order. But after watching this, I'll think I'll pass. It just looks like a chore.
I've played this for 3 days now on my PC rig. I don't really know how GTA5 looks as its not out on PC but Watch Dogs is BORING. The entire mechanic of "Hacking" feels like a CHORE - not some challenging game mechanic. Hacking through Security Cameras and sneaking around in cover is laborious, become tedious after the first 15 minutes, and the gameplay is unsettling. Walking around, looking at every person, seeing the money the make a year, what they do for a living, and some DIRT on their private life is not pleasurable but off putting. NO WAY anyone over the age of 18 plays this game for fun after forcing themselves through the first play through. This is a failed rip off of GTA 4 - I'm sure it doesn't touch the last gen console release of the fifth. This game sucks and it will fail/ Should cost $20 and be a online DLC one time indy purchase.
@underblackflags. . Stop posting on every website, with a copy and paste of this, it makes you look stupid.
@underblackflags I personally thought GTA V looked better. Sure it had the occasional bad texture and popin issue...But the overall atmosphere and everything was much better. The lighting overall in Watch Dogs is fairly poor, and the city just looks bland. GTA V's lighting was much better better, even though it was on last gen.
I really want to get excited about this game but anytime I see the player's car collide with an object (other car, street light, telephone booth, etc), I just cringe. It seems they put a lot of effort into the detail of this game, but collision physics and animation seem to be an after thought.
@martouf02 Same goes for the lighting, the lighting in the game is almost non existent. Watching people drive around during the day and everything is evenly lit, its pretty much the same exact thing at night. The framerate isn't all that great either...Here people were obsessed with resolution, but that doesn't really effect gameplay...poor framerate on the otherhand does.
@Kooken58 I've seen some really good lighting in some of the videos, and I think that comes from the PC version of the game with max settings. That's another problem, the PC version is much better graphics wise compared to the console version. I think (but not sure) that a lot of the promo videos for the game are made using a combination of the different platforms. So the quality of the game appears very inconsistent.
Moderator existed. Good to see it has a difficulty option, the easiness killed Assassins Creed for me.
Can we bring back feedbackula for just 1 episode after the review of this game? I gots a feeling it will be one for the ages.
After watching the game a bit a few things stick out to me. There is some great detail in the city, everything from the residential to downtown, be nice to simply just explore.
-The draw distances on the console are terrible! It might of been this one scenario, but on the xbox one, the draw distance was litterally about 500 feet until objects faded into a "fog"
-Framerate is also pretty bad, especially when driving. Soo much for this "next gen" power.
@Kooken58 I have a feeling that's due to the developers half-assing the "next gen" versions more than lack of power. I'd still like to see the Watch dogs game they showed off at E3 a few years ago.
@Cakapoo That version doesn't even exist on PC either. While it does look decent, its nowhere near that of what we saw at E3. It also appears to be poorly optimized. I think their mistake was also developing the games for last gen. We never had this issue with the 360 and ps3. Once those rolled out, very few games continued to be developed for the xbox and ps2.
@Cakapoo @Kooken58 True, another thing of note is the lighting is almost non existent. Graphics arn't everything and all, but I find it funny that a game like GTA V has better lighting than this so called "next gen" game.
The same case was true when PS2 and Xbox were still relevant. They didn't get all releases the 360 and ps3 got, but they did get some...and they were more ports with most of its features stripped.
A- You must not treat this game, like you do with GTA, this hacker needs to be more carefull. whilst GTA criminals are not! Everything the hacker does leaves a trace, the police is far more motivated to get him, because there arent many like him and he threatens the entire system, he also uses a characteristic way to deal with things, unlike the common GTA thug...who is just one of millions of his kind.
So the police naturally feels more competent in this one...
B- It is a well known fact that the PC version, intentionally wont be that optimized and the last gen versions wont be that sharp, this game is supposed to let the next gen consoles shine, so no pirate version has yet to make the right impact, because they are in inferior platforms.
Not much in the way of innovation here. The hacking seems like a boring mechanic and everything else looks like a poor man's GTA, which is not a good thing. GTA already has boring gameplay.
@slappy54 I don't recall there actually beign any hacking. All you do is hold X.
Am thoroughly unimpressed with this game, to be completely honest. I failed a fixer mission about 9 times in a row yesterday until I finally said screw it and I quit. The cops are just absolutely ridiculous - they are on your ass even worse than Sleeping Dogs or GTA5, and even once you do escape them, they put search radii right in the way of your quest objective and trap you into renewing the police chase.
Even ignoring that, the gameplay wasn't even fun in the first hour or so. The most entertaining thing was the cash run and that was based solely on how silly it was.
@grenadehh was that the mission to take a car, escape the cops and drop it off at a parking place?
@maramsp @grenadehh Yea. I'd hack a traffic light and crash their car and then hey buddy heres 3 more police. And then I'd hack a garage door and close it behind me and they'd open it back up. Maybe I miss the point of hacking garage doors.
@grenadehh if the yellow ones come, then just make sure that you are not in the yellow zone. They eventually disappear. So better to wait between 2 yellow rings, so that 1 disappears, and then continue
After that, those missions become a lot easier
@grenadehh @maramsp true, true.. had that problem too.. i was on the parking lot.. double rowed.. i was on the first row.. and then there was a mini wall where the car could not get over it.. and i had to be on the other row.. so basicly 2 meters, and there i got screwed by the yellow circle.. thats even more frustrating..
But for the rest i found this game pretty much ok:) one of the big ones for this year..
@grenadehh but i agree with ya that the first hour is a bit boring.. but i myself are now 2-3 hour in, and starting to get better:)
@grenadehh Can't you just....park your car, then hold the button to hide in the seat till they call off the search?...thats how I did it.
Got my finger on the button, ready to start my DL before work tomorrow, and then splatter pedestrians afterwards. Gonna be a long day.
@origkillmachine Don't worry, maybe it gives you some comfort to know you're not the only one. Of all the days THIS is exactly the day I have to be out of town... return in the evening - and only then I can start the download. Also in Europe a lot of people probably have to work today, as it's a regular Tuesday.
