What a fantastic demonstration! I hope the finished product lives up exactly to its title and that the survival horror remains harsh and dreaded. If Creative Assembly pull this off, it will be evidence that creating games from films can be achieved enjoyably and I only wish more games would borrow ideas/worlds from films rather than butcher them (Insert Colonial Marines here).

My only initial worry is the length of the game could be potentially short, but as long as the developers keep the survival horror elements cranked beyond peak, it should be great.

Extremely excited for this one! The Alien franchise seems to be finally in some good hands. Please don't let us down lool.

Looks and sounds like a fantastic game so far. I have wanted a good Alien game for so long. This one has all the potential. I hope they can pull it off.

Aaaaargh. I love this, but I'll probably s**t myself playing it. I haven't even got the guts to finish Slender - The eight pages *sigh*

It seems interesting in the fact that its staying true to the movies roots, one Alien vs a Crew that have almost no way to defend themselves. I might even call this an apology for Colonial Marines, given how bad that game turned out...

Looks good but I'd prefer it to have a 3rd person view option.

Why is it us Alien fans get burned so often or movie games in general?

Man i really hope SEGA follows through with this and makes it awsome.

So they basically took Amnesia: The Dark Descent and threw an Alien skin on it.......I'm strangely okay with this.

I like how there is only one alien

And if you have to fight it you're fucked

Maybe i'll buy this one...

lets put things into perspective here. alien colonial marine trailers looked terrible and it was no surprise the game was terrible. the game play for alien isolation looks incredibly polished and in a whole different league. Sega might be on board again but its only a publisher this time, not the developer. this game will be 10 times better than colonial marines.

Its more of a sit down and wait for this me. I love sega but lately they have been screwing up too much with movie license games.  The last alien game had good previews but when the end product came out it was terrible.

Looks really nice.

I only hope that they  won't screw this up like Total War Rome 2.

After all, Creative Assembly is the one making this game.

looks amazing, and so intense I won't be able to play it lol

this definitely looks cool. I just don't know how they'll keep it up for the entire game. I mean really, how many times can you go from point A to point B while narrowing escaping the Alien before it loses its excitement.

Looks really good. A non-scripted solitary alien hunting you in abandoned halls... I dont have the guts to play this :p i wish i did though.

PLEASE don't f*** this up. PLEASE don't f*** this up. PLEASE don't f*** this up. PLEASE don't f*** this up. PLEASE don't f*** this up. PLEASE don't f*** this up.

The game looks fantastic. I've seen lots of comments about how survival horror gets boring after several hours of play and I think it's because a lot of survival titles today lack the balance that the older survival horror games had - think games like F.E.A.R. and even Dead Space - you have your creepy moments and your action-packed parts - smart developers always knew what they were doing with those transitions and it works in providing change when one element starts to drag on. Another thing I'd hope for is crew mates ; Seeing them work together and then split up, leaving our girl alone to search for answers while hearing the occasional cry of a crew-mate being haunted by *something* and trying to survive herself would create a good balance of creepy and non-creepy moments.

can't wait to play this on PC :]

Sega....which means looks good in previews, but will look nothing like it on release.  Might be wrong, I will wait till release and hopefully be surprised.  Learnt to never preorder a game ever again thanks to Aliens CM.

I still have trouble playing any modern Alien(s) game in the dark, this will be no exception. Bring on the nightmares.

SEGA?? another deception then...

Looks very good. But please no more flashy objects in games, its ruining atmosphere a bit. A person who developed this idea that everything from weapon to ladder need to flash should be hanged ; - )

This looks very similar to another game coming out called Routine, which is a survival horror on an abandoned moon base where you're only armed with a motion sensor and have to figure out what happened to the place. Both games look beautiful and terrifying, but I'm guessing this will sell better just because of the name.

Statement - "AI for the Alien is really sophisticated"

Game - Made by Creative Assembly

Evidence - Rome 2 AI

I rest my case.

This looks shockingly great. The first film is my favorite in the series, so it's great to see a film actually fall back on that rather than Aliens.

Very promising.

I wonder how they'll keep the game interesting throughout. Don't get me wrong it looks great, but if Amnesia and Outlast have taught me anything it's that sneaking around, waiting to be attacked whilst collecting various objects gets pretty old pretty quickly.

@delta5931Most Alien fans would agree, an apology is due, but Sega is a business and they know they have a cash cow if only they can get a developer that doesn't blatantly lie, cheat and steal from them... coughgearboxcough. If this works out well, then CA could be hired to do a proper Aliens game that would complement this. <hopes being raised again>.

@wildamnesia

Probably not. They have acid for BLOOD. It's like asking when human poo, do they poo blood? No. Okay some do, but that'd be because of illness/ injuries. So no, I don't think aliens poo acid.

@garalao Yeah, I have that problem too.

Remember Doom 3? I had to get shit-faced before I had the nerve to play that fucking thing. Never finished it. What a waste of money…

@ashyblood

Yeah, PC version is a must for me. The graphics in the videos look exceptional other than the very bad aliasing. I'm glad that I will be able to minimize that on the PC.

@xbox360kb

Would you prefer a huge arrow floating over the items with "TAKE THIS" written above it?

DarkSaber2k

@khimeron13I'm pretty sure the Amnesia guys are also working on a sci-fi horror game. Funny how "unique" ideas tend to turn up in a cluster from different devs sometimes.

@kevicus12  I have to respectfully disagree with you about Amnesia and Outlast.  To me, those were the reason's (oh and the creepy atmosphere that both created) was why i absolutely loved them both.  Outlast was VERY scary and Amnesia was just plain creepy.  Anyway, hugely looking foward to this game :)

themc_7
themc_7

@guvnafuzz @themc_7 in every other game, you would kill the alien. And then on the next encounter their would be more, or it would be stronger. There has to be a progression difficulty, but for the game to work, every level must be designed for escape and therefore success.

ashyblood
ashyblood

@RabidBurp @xbox360kb I think he wants it like back in RE days when you just run up on random walls and counters mashing X like crazy till something can be picked up..

themc_7
themc_7

@xbox360kb @ashyblood @RabidBurp I agree with you. If it says "go to storage for a fuel cannister", the fuel doesn't have to be flashing, you just have to look for it. Or maybe there can be a Nav arrow on top of your screen that can be toggled on/off if you need a bit of help.

xbox360kb
xbox360kb

@ashyblood@RabidBurp@xbox360kbNo, I just prefer it to be as realistic/life-like as possible, especialy in game like this... when the atmosphere need to ...acurrate. In this situation the more you forget its just a game the better experience/immersion. You want to tell me you would have problemes with guessing what is the ladder for when its not pulsing with strong light?
