Sega is probably laughing right nowgamerguy456

Now?  I would think they've been laughing for some time considering they have repeatedly shipped out (what to some can be described as) "shoddy" merchandise, and still make profit out of it.  If anything, this game is just a ruse to reaffirm the Sonic Fanbase, at which they will abandon such thoughts and continue with what they've BEEN doing.

I would have to respectfully disagree with you on this part (Unleashed only, I haven't played Black Knight so I didn't watch the review).

Yes, the reviewer was a bit cynical, however I couldn't help but feel that everything he said has been mimicked in this very union from the get go.  I myself enjoyed Unleashed, but for the most part that review didn't say anything I hadn't already read here.

I'm not going to disagree wholly simply because I am unfamiliar with IGN's ratings for most Sonic Games, but I will stand by my opinion that the review for Unleashed appeared fair if not for the fact that most Sonic fans seem to say the same things.

I don't quite think it's really ever possible for a review to be "too harsh" because when push comes to shove, a review is simply an opinion.  And frankly, there are very few sources out there that aren't in some way biased towards their own opinion (if not all).  Although as Sonic fans we might think that their reviews are based unfairly, in the end we don't represent every single person who plays a Sonic game.  It's why I try not to use reviews as a source for buying video games, every "reviewer" has some sort of opinion which differentiates them from myself (Unfortunately it makes finding good games a bit difficult).

What makes it even more difficult is when "true fans" accuse other people of not being "true fans" leading to airs of negativity on boards that prevent the "half fans" from conversing with people that could help them become "true fans," all the while muddling the definition of "true fan." But, hey, I could be wrong. :)sonicphc

BAH!  Like we need their kind!  (I wont be horribly flamed for that...) ;)

I can sympathize though.  It is really annoying when people say that they like someone because he's cool.

Wait what?  Who said that?  No one I'm sure.  I only coughed....

If you are admitting to beating Sonic Heroes on the PS2, then frankly I officially declare that you are BAMF.  That's strange....I don't remember this paranormal wormhole being in my room before....

Sonic Heroes (PS2 only) by far wins this.  After all, a game that is physically impossible to beat should qualify as difficult.  I can only imagine the horrible mutants that have been spawned in order to actually beat such a game.

Your saying KOTOR 2 was bad? Bioware made the best Star Wars RPG ever, and I don't even like RPGs.

Soniczero1993

Well, KotORII was actually made by Obsidian, the first one was by Bioware.  Though that's a common mistake, as I only found that out recently.  But no, don't get me wrong, I loved both KotOR's, it's just that the second one was just a good sequel, not a phenominal one.  The main problem was that LucasArts forced them to release early, which then resulted in them cutting out about 40% of the game (I know that sounds rediculous, but they cut out TONS).  The first one was a great game, with excellent structure.  The second one had a great adaptation, with all of the additional gameplay elements that fans wanted badly.  The only problem is that because they had to cut out a lot, the story became very confusing and unstructured.  The last portion of the game (Malachor V), is extremely confusing.  Of course, after watching some of the restored scenes from the Telos Restoration Project, that ending is now much more understandable.

That kinda issue happens a lot with games, and it's very unfortunate. KotOR II would have been a phenominal sequel if Obsidian just had more time to develop it.  Of course, Sonic games don't have the luxury of extremely hardcore fan-modders (Team Gizka) to rebuild all of the removed elements from the game.  (I actually can't wait until the Telos Restoration Project is finished, just having a glimpse of what KotORII would have been like makes me excited).

Heh... "Ask not what your SEGA can fail for you, but what you can fail for your SEGA."

That wins on so many levels.  I'm officially going to make a gamespot union of Pikachu in the Sombrero.  We shall demand that Nintendo and SEGA make this game.  We shall riot in the streets, burn your crops and terrorize your citizens until we suceed.  Or maybe I should make it on Facebook.......

Probably by making some horrible hybrid between "old and new" styles.  So maybe it's in 2d, but then they throw in Silver with a bunch of emo gimmicks or something.  I doubt that they'll just wholesomely say "Yeah, we've been screwing you guys over for years so we can make games for the masses, though now we've decided to screw them over and give priority to you guys!"

Let's face it, SEGA is going to try and appease both crowds at best.  They aren't just going to completely abandon their marketable.....market....

I think Sonic should move in the racing direction.  After all, one of the main things fans want from Sonic is more speed based gameplay.  So, have the focus being a racing game (foot or vehicle, doesn't really matter).  I remember Sonic Adventure 2 had racing, and I'd always play as Metal Sonic because I hadn't seen him since S3&K.

In fact, I think a strong Sonic game would involve a non-racing story, with multiplayer racing elements.  After all, games like Rush have that kind of element, and I have yet to see anyone complain about them.  And who knows? Maybe you could have both vehicles and non-vehicles.  Say, Sonic runs on his feet, while Tails flys in a mini version of the Tornadoe (or something that would actually work).  Or perhaps have everyone run on feet, and then have some sort of bonus unlockable "You've unlocked Sonic with a Skateboard", that way it pleases both the old fans, and the newer ones craving more "coolness".

Still, what do I know?  I haven't even played the first Adventure :P
