@1234die Uh, I don't know about those scopes -- though I suspect the military will find a use for them, but the electronic safeties could be incredibly useful. They wouldn't use the phone or watch (which isn't really secure anyway) but instead microchip the soldiers à la Metal Gear. In this way they could relatively easily prevent insurgents from retrieving weapons from fallen soldiers. On the other hand, I bet all these electronics would be vulnerable to EMPs.
I've had a number of lucid dreams before. I am usually aware that the situation was ludicrous and impossible but I rarely have a lot of control over them. Usually I am aware that I am dreaming and my dream is ridiculous and am rather frustrated with it.
What is it about MMOs that get people to hate on companies so much? I, like a lot of people, spent about $100 on Skyrim +DLCs. That would go a long way in ESO even with the $15 per month charge. Maybe its because once I paid for Skyrim I didn't feel like Bethesda was trying to beat every every cent out of me with locked content.
Hey guys, love your show! I have a request though. I'd really appreciate it if the links to the mods and the tinyurl voting page were put in the description for the video. Thanks!
@CatPuncherI learned a great deal of German from video games. Although I already knew some German when I started (about 4 college semesters), I massively improved my German by playing games like Oblivion, Witcher, and Tomb Raider. I certainly didn't only learn German from games but it greatly helped me with confidence and natural speaking, grammar, vocabulary, and perhaps most of all, spotting mistakes.
Most western games are are not translated into languages other than Spanish, French, German, Italian and English, however that does give one quite a bit to choose from.
If you buy a downloadable game for PC (from Gog, Steam, etc.) you can look at the available languages on the store page and choose the language you want at download (Gog) or under the game's properties (Steam).
Unfortunately, I don't know much about how it works on the consoles.
One problem with streaming games is that games can easily be removed from the library if there are licensing issues or a company goes defunct. For downloads, at least on PC, you will keep your copy even if the distributor loses the right to sell the game. Take Fallout for example, you can't buy a digital copy anywhere to my knowledge due to some licensing issue. But if you bought a copy on Gog or Steam you can still play it.
I highly recommend the books for those who enjoyed the games. There are no spoilers as the books take place in an earlier period of Geralt's life. The games' stories make much more sense after reading some of the books because many of the characters and countries are described there. The first time I played the Witcher II I really felt like I, myself, had amnesia and didn't have the slightest comprehension of the various political struggles.
