The Wii U's problem, is that a good percentage of Wii's that were bought, are now just gathering dust, as the majority of people who bought Wii's were 'non-gamers.' Those people have now moved on to playing games on tablets etc, so they have no intention of buying a Wii U when their Wii gathers dust on a shelf.

The Steambox is a great idea, and it's aimed at someone like me. I'm a console gamer, but I'd also quite like to take advantage of all that Steam has to offer. I have no interest in having a dedicated, space hogging, power hungry, desktop gaming PC in my living room, or any other room for that matter, so to me, a Steambox sounds fan dabby dozey.

I only played the single player campaign of Aliens: Colonial Marines, and while it wasn't a great game, it was still reasonably enjoyable. 5/10. The worst game I played last year was Sniper 2.

@oflow To take a competency test? I wouldn't have a problem with that. Would you?

We love old games, as they quite often remind of us of a time when we were teenagers with not a care in the world, that hadn't been ground down by adult life. I get nostalgic for Chuckie Egg on the BBC B Micro. There has been no other game in the last 30 years that I have put as much time in to, as I did with Chuckie Egg in the mid 80's. I also get nostalgic for my Neo Geo console that I had in the early to mid 90's, as it was the pinnacle of console gaming at the time. I really wish I hadn't sold it; and did I see a clip of the Neo Geo game 'Viewpoint' in the video? Pretty sure I did. Loved that game, but **** me it was difficult. It was also quite difficult to track down a copy, and I had to pay around £200 for my mine. Crazy when I think about it now, as these days I try to not spend more than £20 on a game.

Brilliant! There should be a competency test you have to pass before being allowed to comment online. That would weed out all the little bastards who do nothing but talk utter shite 24/7.

Oh, and if you fail the test, you get euthanised ;)

Well said, Danny. The Internet has raised a generation of dickheads, and many of them, sadly, hang out at Gamespot. An unbelievable amont of utter bollocks is spouted here each and every day.

Cool, that's good to know, so thanks for the info. Think I may look in to this further, as I'd love to play those Mario games.
