Not much more ridiculous than somebody buying a Mac in my opinion. Not that Windows is a good operating system (its not) and not that MacOS is bad or worse (its better) but Mac charges an absurb ammount for the same hardware you can buy on NewEgg on a PC you build and customize yourself. Then you can put whatever OS on that you like. Mac users bother me for that reason, they more often than not, are paying for the Apple logo so they can go sit in Panera or Starbucks and look like a tool...

not directed at Mac users in here specifically but a large part of the Mac userbase.

Trust me, both the 360 and PS3 will have their share of "Crysis" graphics by the end of this gen. The first 2 years dont really show anything about a consoles power. Looks a God of War 2 compared to the early PS2 games. They looked distinctly different.

Crysis is head and shoulders above Gears of War. Head and shoulders. There is no comparison. I do not expect, ever, for there to be a "Crysis" game on PS3 and 360.

who buys Halo for The SP? Also, all of you expecting things to change alot are going to be dissapointed. the beta Still has about two weeks left, which is only going to leave them with 6 weeks to finish anything. that would be called crunch time, and they are pretty m uch going ot focus on fuctionality issues rather than graphics.

Halo 3 isnt Bad, its just not better. You kind of expect Next gen entries of a franchise to better. Halo 3 just feel slike Bungie is just shoveling out an HD version of a game from 3 years ago, and banking on any idiot with a 360 buying it just becasue it is what it is, and not becasue they improved anything.

I think what people don't like about them is that they seem "plain". It's still a multiplayer beta available for download, and I don't think that Bungie bothered to make it look all lush and beautiful to be excessively large in size when you download it.  All kinds of details can always be added later.

I took a look at the screen shots and I feel that the models are really good. The core of the game, graphics wise, seems pretty solid. It just needs polish.

From the place where people face reality? I  happen to agree with "those people" as well. The graphics are really dissapointing :-(

well they are adding equipment which changes a lot of the gameplay and makes it more tactical, and support weapons will a new element with their 3rd person-view and there are going to be loads of customizable options in custom games ex: control the level of gravity. sounds pretty awesome to me.
