It is a shame the original Titanfall wasn't on both consoles.


The game was unique, and surprisingly good (I really dislike CoD games)- and I feel that this was drowned out by the usual stupid system-war bickering.


Hopefully the system wars won't have completely removed the will of PS4 owners to try the game out.

It all depends on a perspective.


When I shoot a rocket launcher at a wooden chair, I expect it to be blown to pieces.


I consider it a bug when this doesn't happen.


In that sense, CoD is extremely buggy- all the wooden objects are apparently resistant to grenades, missiles, rockets, etc. Sounds like a buggy game to me,

NPC's aren't there for the sake of visual aesthetics.


The bots work similarly to Minions, and other NPC's in MOBA games. You kill them to level up faster- or in this case, get your Titan.


Players have to rush to kill the other side's "minions" faster so they can get their Titans first. A side effect of this is it prevents camping, because you won't get your Titan fast enough by sitting in a room.


Finally, NPC's are needed to pad out player numbers. Having too many players would be very bad for the game. The intent was that Pilots would always feel powerful, and thus a small group can take down a Titan with relative ease. So, having too many Pilots on the field means Titans would drop like flies. NPC's solve that problem. Titans are still powerful, because they can mow down bots the fastest- and this is at no cost to making Pilots unable to deal with the Titans.

I really enjoyed this game (the original SNES version)- it's one of the first games I play to test out a different SNES emulator version.


But I am really surprised they kept the crying sound of baby Mario in. This has been a pretty universal criticism of the game for years.


I understand it was critical for the health system, but the sound of baby Mario crying is like freaking nails on a chalkboard and you hear it almost constantly.


Wish they had replaced it with maybe a slight wimper- or just given players an option to turn Baby Mario's crying sound off entirely.

Looks good.


Though, looking at the gameplay- I think it's time we have a discussion- a very serious discussion of something that NEEDS to be addressed.


HUD-crowding.


It's a disease affecting more and more FPS games every day. I can hardly see what's going on behind "20+ POINTS FOR THAT KILL YOU JUST GOT", and "LEVEL + YOU ARE NOW COMMANDER" and "THIS GUY KILLED THIS GUY WITH THIS WEAPON", and "PRESS BUTTON TO PICK UP THIS WEAPON", and "CHALLENGE COMPLETED" and "ACHIEVEMENT ACHIEVED"


In 10 years, I predict the entire screen of FPS games will be entirely obscured.
