Hello! I was recently given a desktop with a quad core, 8gb of ram, 500 gb HDD, nvidia 8500, and xp on it. Not as good as my laptop but ill take it.

I do however need to fix it, and the problem at hand is that i cannot seem to figure out why NEITHER onboard nor GPU is displaying to any monitors. It was also previously shutting down when it felt like it, however it seemed to have stopped after I removed the PCI-E GPU. Everything else is working just fine.

However now, I am faced with this problem. Any ideas on what to try from here?

Left 4 dead 2 is a bad Left 4 dead mod

Subzero199
correction: L4D is a is an overpriced mod for source and L4D2 is kind of like Valve's MW2. Not to say that they aren't fun or good games, they are, but not worth the price

Damn Ive been looking for Zippo lighters too. Would it be weird if I don't smoke at all?Pvt_r3d
I carry around one at all times for three reasons, first being that theyre awesome, second being that theyre pretty practically for anything that comes up that you require one even if its just your buddy who forgot his lighter, and third being its kind of a piece of memory as it was my late father's. I say go get a zippo, even a cheap one :P

Your standard run of the mill laptop is surely NOT made to play high performance and graphic intense games, unless it is made specifically to have high output and do such tasks like mine that is a Sager NP8662 which you can only get online to my knowledge.

Even so, for any laptop, especially if doing intense stuff, a good cooler to rest it on that has fans and gets into all the ventilation slots in the laptop is HIGHLY reccomended to lengthen your laptops time and is pretty much required if you want to game.

I currently own a Razer Lachesis (which is quite glorious and ill take over a G9 any day), but I formerly used a Logitech G5 which even still I occasionally use on the PC my mom now uses.

I would highly reccomend the Logitech G5, it's $50, which is a bit pricey, but its pretty well worth it. It feels really nice, decent button placement, and very nice sensitivity and overall good build.

There is also the Razer Copperhead and Deathadder which are $55 and $50 respetively, but I'd still go with the G5 as those 2 Razers in my opinion are nice, but the G5 ousts them in terms of comfort (esp if youve been using a logitech already, going from one of those to a Razer mouse took me a while to get used to), nice weight, and little better quality.

Only other thing i'd say might work well would be the Logitech MX518 is pretty good and only $40 but it's also Optical, not Laser like all of the others listed.

Should be alright to do it, I think it also greatly depends on how fast your net speed is for how well it will run but I see no reason not otherwise just for fun.

Wireless mice for gaming arent too bad now, but unless it was a real high end one, I personally would stay wired for gaming.

This is supposed to be good I belive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104070

Regardless though, stick with Logitech for your purposes unless you want to somehow get $100+ for a Razer Mamba...

Youll run it not maxed, bu either pretty much fine.

I don't know how you've gotten by with only 1GB of RAM though, seriously haha, I've had at least 2GB's for yeaaaaaars.

Get on upgrading/getting more RAM asap, its really cheap now too assuming you have slots for it. newegg.com is always good

That's a pretty good one, if you want it go for it.

I honestly think this is a better buy and product overall though, what i plan on getting here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834101166
Better GPU and RAM and a bigger Screen. Only downsides are no bluetooth, no blu-ray, and a little bit weaker CPU but it balances out.

PLUS you can get it cheaper at best buy either online http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp;jsessionid=KTZ3K3OIZPITVKC4D3DVAHI?skuId=9172511&st=780&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1218043606827 or you can actually get one at your local best buy too. Heads up though, you may get a 1440x900 as opposed to a 1920x1200 resolution model but just ask and they may give you one. It's a bit more convenient to get it locally if you dont mind the change of features.
