I'm in the market for a new wireless gaming mouse. I'm willing to spend 40-50$ on one. Anyone know of a good one?

Wireless mice for gaming arent too bad now, but unless it was a real high end one, I personally would stay wired for gaming.

This is supposed to be good I belive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104070

Regardless though, stick with Logitech for your purposes unless you want to somehow get $100+ for a Razer Mamba...

Huh. Thanks for that. I'll keep my eye on it. I was looking at another Logitech for 60 dollars. This one looks better. Only downside is that it uses AA batteries. You would think most things have rechargeable batteries now.

For the price you won't get anything decent. The problem with most wireless mice is noticeable lag, which will make most types of gaming frustrating. Both Microsoft and Razer are set to release (or may already have released) high quality gaming mice - Sidewinder X8 and Mamba Wireless - but you can expect to pay a premium for either.

The only good wireless gaming mouse is the Logitech G7, but that's slightly above your budget.

Logitech all the way :) I've used the MX700 for several years and that is a very good mouse. There are now newer improved models in the G5 and G7, though I think only the G7 is wireless. The shape of them are really comfortable in my hand. Currently using a MX518 (wired) as I was away from my PC more and kept forgetting to charge the wireless mouse :)

I'm convinced that most of the people that say wireless mice aren't good for gaming haven't really tried one themselves for any significant time. I've been using a wireless Logitech for a couple of years and just ordered this one as a replacement because one of my buttons broke. It's OEM, so it doesn't come in the pretty display package, but it's a good price for what it is.

I believe the best wireless gaming mouse out right now is the Razer Mamba, but that's definitely out of your budget. I'd stick with a wired mouse for now.

My favourite has always been the Logitech ball mouse. I don't think Logitech makes them anymore, though. They're also not wireless. The unfortunate thing about ball-mice are their tendancy to upset new users. I've been using one ever since I've been using a computer, so to me any other mice are sluggish and almost unusable. However, for gaming, you'll find movement far smoother than a regular mouse could provide.

I like wireless moses better but they really aren't the best for gaming. They also eat up batterys meaning you have to replace them which is kinda annoying.

Usually they have more buttons which can be custom programmed. Some, like the new MS gaming mouse have macros that you can program. Most importantly, they have a higher read rate on their laser so your movements are updated much faster and as such are more precise. Some people think that's very important but for me it's kind of like owning a sportscar in the middle of a busy and traffic packed city. Yea, you've got the power, but what are you really going to do with it?

yeah don't get razer, i've tried using razer on 2 different computers and while i can install the drivers, it doesn't recognize that the mouse is plugged in to the pc and it had lots of weird sensitivity problems.

Second revision of the G5 (one with the weird blue design.)

Lots of improvements over the original..most notably: the mouse wheel doesn't suck anymore. Awesome laser mouse all around; has the same shape/body as the MX518.
