when i play ut3 online my ping is awful i have a good comp and internet speed.

specs amd x2 6400 3.21 ghz

9800gtx+ oc

2gb ram pc5300

160gb hard drive

comcast internet.

I have comcast Internet, not only do I have extensive problems, my friend had the exact same problem as you. It turns out it was a problem on Comcast's end but they were too lazy to fix themselves lied to them that was the speed they were supposed to be getting (1 mbps as opposed to 6 mbps) so they fixed the problem after they upped their speed plan.

Uhm I have comcast as well, I download at 1 MB/s and I upload 140 KB/s I have their basic package and I get great ping, duno what problem your having.

I've had a similar problem. I have a gaming rig, great download speeds while not gaming, but ingame my ping was brutal. I suggest contacting the folks at your mmorpg and see if they are doing anything behind the scenes. Also, contact your isp multiple times if need be. Ppl are definitely not created equal and I've had some bad experiences with folks who simply should not have the job they have. Thus, you may need repeated calls to get someone that actually 'knows' how to help you. In my case, my mmo folks said all was well, my isp said all was well, but I insisted that a techy come by. He installed a straight dsl line. Whatever the problem was this fixed it. Of course make sure you're not DLing at the same time, be sure to have any wireles encrypted, no spyware...yadda yadda..GL!!

ping is mainly affected by how far away the server is. if you live in Europe and play on a west coast usa server you will get terrible ping. to get good ping play on servers near by.
