Try installing OptiFine for 1.8. Believe me it makes one hell of a difference in performance. GPU gets much much better utilized.

Do you have to install each one?

No you only have to install 1 version. There's multiple versions for it. I used the smooth version. But I don't think it matters all that much. It just completely removes any minor freezes/hiccups etc with any version I guess.

[QUOTE="Sebollah"] Today i got my refund of bf3. Keep crashin every 5-10min. Good luck with this game.laliberte11
then ill wait for patches i guess

Not necessary really, people like Sebollah are really exaggerating on the whole problems part. It runs fine, with very little problems actually. Sebollah most likely has subpar hardware or just a wrong setup but he feels he should condemn the game for it. True there are problems but not by a long shot as bad as he makes it out to be.

And besides theres no guarantee whatsoever that MW3 won't have any problems. I had the lag issue with Blops for about 2 months after release, making the game barely playable. Really BF3 is doing very well in this day and age where unfinished games get released anyway and patched later.

Skyrim. Before ME2 came out I probably would've said ME3 but since ME2 felt like quite a step back I kind of lost faith in ME3. Besides, Skyrim looks amazing so far can't imagine it being worse than anticipated.

Wonderful game, just be sure to check the community patch. I'm glad I didn't miss out on this game, it has a very unique atmosphere to it hard to find in other games.

1. They only care about our money, everything is uber expensive. Ex: They charge us for games that have been out for over 10 years (PS1 re-releases), DLC that is absolutely pointless in certain games.

2. No more single player demos. Who gives a damn about a multiplayer beta for a game that isn't even popular for it's multiplayer?? Ex: Resistance 3, Assassin's Creed Revalations

3. Everything multiplayer must be like Call of Duty in order to be considered a good game by the developers. I can barely tell the difference between the Battlefield 3 trailer and Modern Warfare 3 (aka COD 13).

4. No good new games. Only sequels and remakes. Ex: Uncharted 3, Fear 3, Bioshock 3, Modern Warfare 3, Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3, Saints Row 3, Driver 4, WWE 12 (give me a break)

I don't foresee this situation getting any better, only worse, just like the movie industry. It's sad really but at least I know my gaming addiction won't be indefinite now because it soon won't be worth my time.

AvengedSixfold

Yes I agree with you on all of your points. It's such a shame that it's all about more money these days and not about innovation. I must say though that at #3 driver is at number 5 already and call of duty is at number 8. Oh and let's not forget the tomb raider franchise, they've reached... number 10? Lost count.

Hopefully some indie devs get way more popularity soon so that atleast there'll be innovation again.

[QUOTE="ConnorRamsay"]

I was wondering what the major and minor advantages are to becoming a PC gamer over an console gamer? I know quite a few, but any are appreciated! :)

PublicNuisance

mods, better graphics, mouse and keyboard support, gamepad support, racing wheel support (all three where consoles don't always have all of them), bigger levels, bigger multiplayer, more dedicated servers, cheaper games, more exclusives than any console out there (not combined of course but actually close). Want more ?

^ This + Much faster loading times usually. Oh and quicksave/quickload!

AVGN is really good at what he does. I've been following him off and on for a couple of years now (since 2007 or so) and you can actually see him improve. In the beginning he was really cursing a whole lot, in an original way but still lots of cursing nevertheless. Since 2008-2009 onwards he tends to review games in a normal tone of voice and just in a more entertaining way then before imo. He also has great facts about the old systems I'd never had any idea about so he's quite interesting and informative as well. He does put lot's of time in his projects though, I believe one of his later ones (with the robot) took him about 120hrs to make.

Let's just say that it's very, very, very sad that Battlefield and its vehicle spam is now the posterboy for "balanced" online FPS gameplay

ReddestSkies

I must say I've spend quite some time online in BF games and hardly noticed a lot of vehicle spamming. Sure, there are exceptions, but there are tons of other servers as well.

Noobtubing however, I really hate it when people spam that. Not if it's a last resort when you're out of ammo and/or need to reload ofc.

Well BF3 is more deserving since they really try to take their game to the next level. I honestly wish I could say the same for COD but activision seems too much of a cashcow to care. I'm just all for innovation, no matter the company behind it.
