What I usually do is focus mainly on the user reviews but only those of which a lot of people agree with, and even then it depends on the style it's written. Some reviewers don't bother to pay attention to their layout and that's usually a sign that the reviewer is heavily biased in one way or another.

Mount and blade /warband I guess. It's just a largely unnoticed game unfortunately since it has quite a lot of quality hidden in a rough gem.

It looks simply amazing really. Everything... from the slick animations to the excellent gunsounds that really pack the right punch this game looks absolutely mind blowing and will be a thrill to play (or better yet, take part in). I fail to see how people can not be excited when they watch this. This game will write history and will be known as the first game that nails destructible environments and realistic warfare.

I have lost and continue to lose respect for BioWare...but who cares what i think? So long there are people who will buy any game out there, no matter how bad or how cheated we should be feeling...devs are going to continue create and publishers release.. Money talks...

Yeah and it looks like you completely missed the point ;).

But yeah, games are getting dumbed down in favor of mass profits. That's why I'm totally digging the indy games scene lately, innovativity and originality are to be found there, not so much at the mainstream developers anymore, unfortunately.
