If you get offended by a game then you really shouldn't be playing games in the first place nuff said. Games always do crazy sporadic things because they always have. Its the one place people can do crazy things and get away with it.

True, but I disagree with staying away from games. There's maybe a handful of games that contain somewhat offensive material (GTA series, Manhunt etc) but for the most part games are not as offensive as you portray them to be imo.

Hmm it seems to me that you were actually actively looking for something negative about the game. I mean, your whole post is full of negativity towards a 10(!) dollar game. If you're not willing to give it a chance in the first place then why even play the game?

But no, I've never really been offended by games. Always thought the game Postal would insult me one way or another, but never cared to try it haha.

I really appreciate their level of support in the post-release period. I was just growing used to the idea that modern games would mostly be about a quick and hasty release and some sloppy patches afterward, thankfully CD-Projekt shows quite a lot of promise and I think they really deserve the praise, fame and money they get from The Witcher 2.

I agree totally i played cod4 so many times, mw2 even more because of more action and more guns. Lots of guns really improve replay value in this kinda games. Also cod has the most solid aiming mechanics i have ever seen in an fps. Unlike fps made on unreal engine .

Wow mate, how much more are you gonna state your opinion about the unreal games not being to your liking? That doesn't necessarily mean they're bad, it means your taste in shooters is quite limited.

Wow I'm simply stunned. I was already highly impressed by all the other footage I've seen so far but this just blew me away lol.

$100 million dollar ad campaigns will have that effect.

S0lidSnake

Exactly, just take a look at CoD.

700% is quite a substantial amount. I really hope they make some major profit. Dice seems to be willing to take gaming to the next level with destructible environments and all that, I can always appreciate certain innovation/originality :p

They are honset, people are just butthurt.

Any evidence to back that up? Since any major reviewing site is basically a business it is much more reasonable to assume they actually DO get payed. You think everything is free ? All the research, management, updating the site, new features etc etc? I hardly think so, the world simply doesn't work that way. But please, show me some evidence because I'd much rather believe them to be legit then otherwise tho.

Definately try out Mount and Blade Warband. One of the best games I've played.

If STALKER SoC truly was one of the greatest games ever made, it wouldn't have to practically rely on the mods like the Complete edition or Oblivion Lost.

But alas, it does.

drinkerofjuice

Well I've played Stalker first without mods and later with the complete mod and sure it does look better but the overal atmosphere is right there in the original. No mods needed for that, and it's the atmosphere that makes this game a masterpiece imo. Certainly not the best looking game or the best shooter, but the developers do have the finest eye for detail and carefully constructed environments.

I think it also depends on how you decide to play the game.. play it as a standard fps or try to RP the game as in try to imagine you being there all alone in such a depressing and sad environment with death and sorrow around every corner trying to survive. Boy am I glad I played it as the latter, considering if I played it like a standard fps it wouldnt have impacted me as much as the game did.

No, can't say that I have. The darker, the more unsettling the better. I guess it is just because I love horror in general, but still have yet to really experience something that I feel would be truly horrific in a game. By that, I mean something that seems to transcend comprehension in the truly alien or otherworldly sense of being beyond what would typically be defined as good or evil in human terms, and is pure chaos by it's very nature.

That level of unknown is what I would consider to be 'scary' and hope that someday someone is able to nail that sort of presence and atmosphere in a game. You know, something that leaves you feeling unsure or uncertain of just what you were dealing with, even after the experience is over. Something that suspends disbelief and creates the feeling of having a brush the otherworldly and truly unnameable. Something that seems to cause pure madness by it's very presence.

Hmm then I suggest playing Amnesia or Penumbra: Overture since those games are inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's works.

I guess my one and only "Nope" moment in my life was a few years back when attempting to play Condemned solo. I was busy playing the school level and when I got to the part where I had to zoom in on certain evidence I just got scared sh*tless by what happened next so I pretty much quit the game right after that lol.
