@CaptainBerserk That's actually pretty cool. Motion controlled gaming isn't my thing, but I could see myself goofing around with that stuff and having a good time.
@krown50 Well, the original Resident Evil didn't have an over-the-shoulder camera (it was static camera angles before RE4 introduced the new camera), but this definitely mixes the RE4 control style with that classic RE claustrophobia. Game looks scary, I'm diggin' it.
@Holy-Rapture I would have expected a shout out to the upcoming X-Men movie he'll have a big part in. Seriously, though... Elf? Give the man his proper dues!
@barleybosh Actually, Cabin in the Woods was filmed in 2009, but wasn't released until 2012 (some scuffle over converting it to 3d caused the delay). It was made two years BEFORE Dead Space 2 was released. Neither ripped off each other.
With one-liners like "it's Sloan's bedtime, and his blanket is gonna be six feet of my s***", he really makes a case for bringing back retro-B-Movie-Sci-Fi to videogames.
I'm loving the recent influx of retro-80's-b-movie-baddassery lately (anyone else see the movie Manborg that just came out? Awesomesauce). My only complaint with Blood Dragon was the drab environments when there weren't neon lights, thanks to using the tropical island setting from Far Cry 3 but applying the apocolyptic-future-grim-color scheme. I'd love to see a city-based environment (or at least a chunk of one) in a sequel.
Also, this has totally redeemed Michael Biehn for his involvement in Aliens: Colonial Marines *shudders*. They guy's still a badass!
This is still one of the scariest games I have ever played, masterful survival horror. The relentless and unpredictable crimson heads still haunt my dreams to this day.
