I don't think it's so much that Carolyn criticized GTAV for being "misogynistic," it's that she criticized it for being "misogynistic" in game where you play a criminals robbing banks, murdering people, stealing cars, and partaking in various other criminal activities. I mean really? Come on.
Apparently misogyny is a far greater immoral act than say murdering and innocent store clerk in order to steal their money.
It's no longer financially viable because it had one of the most ludicrous free-to-play models. $30 for a single civilization or $120 for a season's pass worth of content.
Doesn't make any damn sense when you could drop down $50 on previous titles for the games ENTIRE content.
Free-to-play needs to die off. It worked well for League of Legends because it just meshed well with the overall game structure and mechanics. At this point, everything else has become pay-to-win no matter how much developers claim it's not.
"The studio's previous game, the lukewarm 2010 remake of the classic GoldenEye 007, also failed to capture hearts and wallets"
Really now? I sometimes wonder if Gamespot's editors even go through any sort of screening process. YOU GAVE GOLDENEYE 007 ON THE WII A 9.0, CURRENTLY HOLDS AN 81% ON METACRITIC, AND SOLD 1.74 MILLION COPIES.
For crying out loud, your a professional games website, get your facts straight (especially those concerning your own DAMN review scores).
