The only reason Last of Us did so well is because it is still fresh in people's minds. If this wasn't the case Bioshock among other games that really made this generation look and feel like a new gen would have been considered.
@MrNWatson @Vegna_Infamous And they are taking a risk by taking on a game that died years ago with major fan support. Look how DN:F or Colonial Marines turned out in similar cases!
I think its good that the community is split over how good/ bad Bioshock was. It proves that it connected with a certain audience and remained loyal to that audience throughout. If levine had only remained backing that concept and done away with trying to appeal to "frat boys" as he once said then I believe the game would have been better receieved.
Either way the passion surrounding Infinite is incredible. I loved it. It had a few design quirks but wasn't game breaking and I will defend it if people say its "rubbish". Its not rubbish. You can;t call it rubbish as it clearly is well put together. It just isn't come people's taste.
Its popular to hate something that is liked by a majority and its a shame that some people that hate, SOME not all, just do so because it was critically acclaimed.
