Santa Monica has never been great at narratives, none the less emotional ones. They tried it with the little girl Pandora in Gow3 and failed miserably. Now it seems they gonna attempt it again with Kratos in GOW 4: the last of us edition.

Kratos with a kid sounds weird but that's good to me. Fúck it, let's see how it works. Maybe it'll be unreal. The Last Of Us sure made that work. Other games like Ico, Journey and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time also had brilliant, emotionally affecting companions. Let's go for it. What's the worst that can happen? I didn't want another one with Kratos at all. I was all in on Norse mythology this time but start from scratch. New protagonist, story, weapons, enemies. This screams that some suit at Sony said "try tap into that TLOU magic, for this".

Well that's nice but almost no series in existence ditches its iconic main characters. It's always always always going to be Kratos in God Of War.

Also as i said to people who were whining about cinematic games before , we live in a gaming era with so many options in every single genre/sub-genre . Thats means , bypass what you dont like ( TLOU , UC , MGS etc ) and go buy what you like ... Problem solved.

Personally i love cinematic experiences in games let alone emotional ones and to mix one of my favorite hack and slash franchise ever with a deep , emotional story ! Im sold.
