The thing about AVP is they didnt release dedi servers until after launch. So i still dont know how it plays online as the demo had p2p and it was crap.ColdfireTrilogyYeah that was a very poor demo. They should at least make an updated one.

Plus it now has the min/max/close buttons on the left of the window!StormtrooprDaveAre you serious? I haven't tried Ubuntu in a long time. Wow... that seems ridiculous to change something that's pretty much standard on every OS... everybody is going to constantly be going "wtf" everytime they want to use it because it will be so unnatural. Really, there is no improved functionality with that. It seems like a very cheap gimmick to say "ooooh look, we're different than Windows because we have that stuff on the left!"
Be advised that if you are installing it on an HP laptop you might want to make sure everything you have on that laptop is going to work under Linux, as some hardware vendors make things that Linux can't run. Run LiveCd first whatever you do to make sure it works.
Yeah I have to agree. Audiosurf is an intersting bit of tech, but that's about it. I can't see anybody enjoying that for an extended period of time.Audiosurf would be a decent game, if it were released on the iphone. If you want a completely mindless visualizer that you have to pay full attention to then buy this 'game'. If you want to have some fun, then I suggest a FPS with the effects turned down, and then run your media player in the background.

Primary difference being that CnC4 actually has an online experience and they integrated the online aspect even into the single player, with unlocks in every game mode including single player, chat lobby up between missions on the stats screen, etc. They at least TRIED to do something with the fact that the game is constantly connected. Now, if EA starts churning out games with absolutely zero online features but have DRM that requires a constant connection, they'll receive the same criticism.Um also how come their hasn't been any flak fired EA's way yet? They're doing the same thing with CnC4 and quite possibly future PC releases.

[QUOTE="zomglolcats"]I play too many games to mess with Wine. And I don't really feel like tinkering with crap just to get a game to run. I DO like Ubuntu as an OS, but for running Windows based stuff, I'll just stick to Windows.churdoIts not good for the Opensource comunity give up that easily. Linux is a perfect option for who dont have much money for any comercial OS and disagree with this market monopoly, that makes harder to run games under Linux. It's not about giving up. It's about the fact that Wine just doesn't work period for a lot of games or apps. I'm all for open source, but when it comes to real life, I want something simple and easy to use. I don't want to have to dig through forums searching for a clue on how to tweak my system to maybe get a game up and running when I can just install it on Windows and call it a day.
