Fair indeed regarding expansions. As a consumer I'm turned off to the expansion model that so many developer's like Bungie are using nowadays. It's a dubious way to price and market a game and it divides the community over time.

On the up-side, it allows developers to gauge the community desires and then cater to those desires via the expansions. It's advantageous to the gamer sometimes to be able to give the developer feedback, via direct contact or data from play time, that allows them to make adjustments to future portions of the game.

The "base game" should be called "Destiny 2: Section 1" and the "expansions" should be called "Section 2" and "Section 3". Who are they kidding? Destiny 2 is essentially Expansion I or Section I. It's not a complete game so I don't get the $60 price tag?

The costly expansions are what kept me from sticking with the original Destiny. They were a mixed bag of quality, they divided the community, and they were fairly costly. I think we were paying for Peter Dinklage and Paul McCartney!!...Which added NOTHING to the gaming experience.

Bungie was essentially saying Destiny was a $160+ game. I was really excited about this game and hoping it would come to Switch, but when I heard the mention of Expansions I thought, "Oh jeez. Here we go again." I'm not going down that road. This game just doesn't have THAT much to offer compared to what else is out in the market. Consumers will eventually wise up to this.

It's possible. The Switch is actually quite a powerhouse and if the install base grows enough something might come down the pipe that surprises a lot of people. I wouldn't at all hold my breath for 'Red Dead Redemption 2', but we might see 'Destiny 2' or something AAA from EA, Activision, or Ubisoft by early/mid 2018.

It does look similar, but certainly not exactly the same. It seems like a thoughtful evolution after watching Bungie's presentation. Everyone can do raids, the Crucible is 4v4, and the weapons system seems improved. The map is a nice touch as is the ease in which you can now travel around the world. It's looking like a good game...a really good game!

I'm glad I wasn't blown away by this reveal because I really want this game to come to the Nintendo Switch, but that doesn't seem too likely. I really liked the first Destiny and this looks like an improvement on that formula. I'll be getting my shooter fix with the Squidlings in Splatoon 2 for now...but here's to hoping for a port in the future!

I hope this game evolves the Mario series in much the same way Breath of the Wild evolved the Zelda series!

I understand your point, but these sort of discussions boarder on being pointless. You're cherry picking one criteria to compare these two games on and then coming to a broad conclusion. I don't think that is fair and this really goes back to what I said earlier, I think these two games are too different to make broad comparisons with.

I agree with you in that I think Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would be something I could play down the road whereas The Last of Us would loose a lot of it's 'shine', but that is really just one way to look at comparing the two.

I think comparing Mario Kart to something like Little Big Planet Karting is better to attempt as would be comparing The Last of Us to something like Metal Gear Solid or Assassins Creed. Comparing is tricky business and can become nearly totally subjective if you start comparing two very different games. It's what makes compiling Best Games of All-Time lists so difficult...and almost trite.

It seems pretty fair to me. I talked about this on YouTube the other day. I go through all the content and why I think the game is worth the $60 price tag. I'd love to pay less, but I think I make a pretty good case for why Nintendo isn't crazy for charging $60, as the game is PACKED with great content.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IIaho_ib48

I like the sound of that! If great games are ideal on Switch, then we're in good shape. I think the Switch will be full of delightful surprises and home to a lot of great software. What a great system...tons of power for home or on the go with an incredible lineup of software just starting to blossom! Just in time for Spring! Woo hoo!
