[QUOTE="curono"][QUOTE="wiistation36000"][QUOTE="curono"]You guys are hypocrites. You argue that guns are made only for self defense. Fact is you are in love of your guns, and you have a gun-bear society. Guns are not really a tool for self defense If that were the case only pistols and SOME hunting rifles would be allowed. You want to tell me that a weapon near AK47 is needed for "self defense"? That people MUST HAVE shotguns to defend themselves because anything inferior is worthless? A .26 can do the job, handguns are small nimble safer to keep and hide. Why feed gun producing companies with semiauto rifles that can flood the market and fall easily into criminal's hands?? Oh yeah, you create guns in mass because you want to defend yourself from people who uses the guns you created in the first place...

You judging someone you don't even know and calling it fact? Here's a fact: I don't own any guns, nor does my immediate family. Shotguns and automatic weapons can be used for hunting and shooting ranges as well you know. It's true, a .22 cal pistol is enough to defend yourself, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't have the best guns to protect yourself. (I bet someone is gonna suggest a nuke  )

American society started with guns and a part of the heritage came in an ammendment. US westerns were important in part because of the guns and the mythology around their bearers. There are CONVENTIONS dedicated to gun training, selling and gun showcase. There are museums dedicated to gun history. Guns in American videogames are a recurring element of major importance (compared to japan which normally goes with swords, you see a trend). Now you tell me There is not a thing as "gun love" in USsociety?? HECK!!! You say that you want to defend yourself with best equipment. For personal defensive means there is nothing better as something noisy, bearable and quick. Shotguns arent quick (which is needed for situations when someone threatens you), and going for semiauto rifles which can literally pierce an engine is waaay beyond what you need and can become a problem when wanting to lock them from children (it is easier to lock a glock in a box than have a complete drawer for a semiauto rifle)

Woah, slow down there. Why do you bring up the US culture to "prove" that I and a few others are hypocritical gun-toting people? I believe the official title for that is "whole-to-part" fallacy. Let's take a look at the NRA for a moment. They're a non-profit organization that protects the 2nd amendment obviously. They also strongly support (and teach people how to use) guns safely. You'll never find an organization that advocates gun safety more than the NRA. (Unless you count those who try to remove guns in general, but that's a tricky topic) To answer your question, yes, there is such a thing as gun love. But does that mean everyone will go out get a gun and run around town shooting everyone up? Of course not. Americans love their freedom, and they love their right to carry firearms for entertainment, self defense, and we might as well say peace of mind. Now, I don't think we need to get into an argument about a rifle vs a pistol when deadly force is required, so I'll just leave that blank. By the way, I've heard from a gun owner and father that it's a pretty stupid idea to keep your guns hidden from your kids. All parents should teach their children how to use a gun safely (which most of the time means not using it.) and to take it out to the range often so that the child's curiosity is cured.

[QUOTE="UT_Wrestler"]

My wife and I have worked our asses off to afford to live in a safe place. Plus I donate over a thousand dollars a year out of pocket to Alamo Labor Properties, a non-profit organization that teaches job skills to econonically disadvantaged young adults free of charge. I help people who want to help themselves, and I feel no responsibility toward those who refuse to help themselves. So don't come preaching to me about my "responsibility" to other people.

Free_Marxet
ots of people work their butts off, but are dealt crappy cards. you benefit from society, and you owe society something. Screw your donations, pay taxes instead. this way it helps everyone, not just those few who actually get help from charities. whether you feel it or not, you OWE society. because you BENEFIT from it. If it wasnt for all the people you curse in this society, you wouldnt be able to have you near 100k income

A lot of our tax dollars don't end up going to actually benefit society, but are instead either wasted or used to fill the pocket of some avarice politician.

1 hour for start, but it should go up as he/she gets older.

Rather than limiting the age based on what the ESRB says, I think you should make your own choices.

I personally think as long as the kid understands the difference between reality and fantasy, and knows that bad actions in real life result in consequences regardless of age, he's good to play just about any game.

The other rules sound good.

Gun Control - Use both hands

I'm sure that was posted somewhere between pages 2 and 40.

Anyway. I am against it.

I just ordered a Romanian AK-47 and a 75 round drum clip through my local gun club, you know just for home security. I will also be getting a Kimber .45 handgun for personal security. As the law stands now in my state. Anyone can carry a firearm as long as it is holstered and visible. In order to carry concealed you must have a permit.

So my dilema currently is should I get the concealed license or just let every dick and harry i pass know I am packin'.

SunofVich

Someone on here said you're no less likely to get attacked if you have a gun. I kind of think the crooks will go for the person that doesn't have a gun as opposed to the person who does. But that's just me.

At least MS fixes it for free.

Sony charges $150 to fix your $600 console. The sad thing is that they wont stop charging for it because PS3 owners have shown that they are willing to shell out $150 for a console that lasted them only 2 years. Like Geezer said, the fact that people kept buying those PS2s that DRE-ed on them, and the fact that people have bought THREE 360s is the reason why gaming industry gets away with this.

I have NEVER had my DVD player or TV die on me. EVER.

My grandfather's 20 year old TV was still running fine when my mom bought him a newer TV set. My launch PS3 last two years and Sony expects me to pay $150 for it. Yeah, how about you jump in front of a train, Jack Tretton! I hope you get run over by a bus on your way to work. I hope Howard Stinger's wife cheats on him and gets him an STDs.

There's no way in hell I'm paying those *****ers $150. It's about prinicples at this point.

S0lidSnake

Settle down mate, your console breaking is no reason to wish death threats on the designers! :o

Easter: You hide eggs around the house filled with candy.

Halloween: You get to dress up as something else to hide your shame, and knock on peoples' doors to get free stuff.

Thanksgiving: You get to eat as much as you can and not feel guilty about it.

Christmas: You get free stuff, wrapped in colorful paper, put under a tree. You also get to let your elitism shine by making your house unnecessarily bright.

I'm game.

Oh, and how could I forget? Independence day: You get to blow things up and people won't call you immature.
