Not even remotely. I read in an interview that this game was developed with the idea in mind that there is no real challenge. Besides, its designed so that familys can play together, and people can just pick it up and have a laugh. Im sure its going to be of the same quality as Wii Sports and Wii Fit... that is to say, probably a very good introduction to gaming, and a polished tech demo, but nothing thats going to stay in the disc slot for very long.

I can flail my arms around to music without buying a game for it anyway. Im much more excited about Wii Speak and Animal Crossing tbh.

I fear my standards for a good quality game differs from everyone else. I keep seeing people saying it has no games, or there is nothing on the horizon, but I own thirty games for the thing, 7 of which I am yet to complete. For the last three days, I have had the oppurtunity to sit down and play it extensively (waiting for a sodding repair man to come fix the dish washer), and its been on straight for about ten hours each day. No joke.

There are about 10 games Ive missed for the system I want, too, and just for those that keep saying there is nothing coming up:

Animal Crossing, Blast Works (EU), Castlevania: Judgement, The Conduit, Call Of Duty: World At War, Crash: Mind Over Mutant, Deadly Creatures, De Blob, Disaster: Day Of Crisis, Facebreaker, Fatal Frame, Fragile, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Kirby, Lego Batman, Little Kings Story, MadWorld, Mario Super Sluggers, Monster Hunter 3, Monster Lab, Mushroom Men, Oboro, Sam & Max, Samba De Amigo, Sim City Creator, Skate It, Sky Crawlers, Sonic Unleashed, Spyborgs, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Tales of Symphonia, Tenchu 4, Tomb Raider Underworld, Trauma Center: New Blood (EU), Wario Land: Shake It, We Love Golf, Wii Music, Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobos Dungeon (EU), Arc Rise Fantasia and others are all set to hit the console sometime soon.

IMHO thats a lineup to keep many a gamer interested, and therefore, I am enjoying my Wii immensely, and as a primary console.

[QUOTE="wallsy9"]

[QUOTE="bigLLL"]ive said this game will be bad from the start, the gameplay looks like you arnt even in control of the game, it's sonic on rails and you just press left, right and jump and certain times so you dont fall into a ditch......falconclan

Like all of the other Sonic games in existance.

When I was a kid, I never got to play a Sega machine. My dad bought the NES and SNES, and none of my friends were really into video games, unfortunately. I played the original Sonic games at the same time as some of the newer ones and bigLLL's criticism actually holds true for the early games. Theyre still good, but that is their one flaw; sometimes, you dont have a clue whats going on, and the whole thing feels like its on rails, and you just need to jump every now and then.

So its exactly like every other old school platformer? Oh no...

Sorry, what?

You didn't play the original ones the fun way. I prefer to play them in a normal way, I think they would've been better without the speed, or just have short segments with speed in them because what was really good about the Sonix games (and Ristar another game they made) was the different heights. the fact you can play the same level 10 times and take a different overall route each time, SEGA doesn't seem to realise that's what was so fun, not the speed at all.

You have a fair point there, you have made me want to back through them again. :P

I dont want anyone to get me wrong, I still loved the games even after playing them for the first time years later. They hold up so well, the graphics are superb, the music is excellent and it certainly doesnt feel clunky like some of the other stuff around at the time.

Hahahaha, I actually kinda liked that; it reminded me of the crappy 90s Sega adverts for the Megadrive. So corny.

I would actually quite like something that mixes the two together, with the crispness of cel-shading and that weird etheral quality that Twilight Princess had. Something like a cross between Okami and the new Prince of Persia, will all of Wind Wakers gorgeous smoke effects and such.

I would also love it if Link took on a form that resembled the 90s artwork from A Link To The Past's instruction manual. Make it anime-ish, but also keep it firmly European.

Im actually quite excited about a lot of games.

For the Wii, there is Blast Works, Animal Crossing, De Blob, Fatal Frame, Little Kings Story, MadWorld, Tales of Symphonia, Wario Land: Shake It and Mushroom Men.

Then there is Final Fantasy XIII, Bayonetta, Resident Evil 5, Prince Of Persia, Street Fighter 4, Little Big Planet, Beyond Good and Evil 2, Mirror's Edge, Gears Of War 2, Banjo: Nuts and Bolts, the new Viva Pinata game, Fable 2...

...its a big list, and I dont have that much money... well, thats if all of them are actually good.

Ill only run through my current gen Wii stuff, because there is too much older stuff Ive picked up for cheap and havent got round to playing through :|

Anyway.

Okami (its the game Im playing atm, about 22 hours in, about to go to Oni Island)

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Dicky housemate deleted my save file, and I havent had the patience to do it all again)

Zack and Wiki (Got stuck, then got preoccupied with other games)

Tomb Raider Anniversary (Okami is the better game, and that is what's taking up my time)

Super Paper Mario (New)

Red Steel (The clue is in the name ;) )

Bully (lots to do, but Ive put in some good time)

Smash Bros Brawl (About to start the Great Maze)

Eledees (Got repetetive, but Im nearly there)

Endless Ocean (Can you complete this, ever? :S )

Ill polish the lot off by the end of Summer :)
