Completely anecdotal evidence but literally everyone I know that bought a PS2 around launch did so because it was a cheap DVD player.

As for the comparisons between the PC and Xbox One X, he said: "If you think about it, it's kind of equivalent to a GTX 1070 maybe and the Xbox One X actually has 12GB of GDDR5 memory. It's kind of like having a pretty high-end PC minus a lot of overhead due to the operating system on PC. So I would say it's equivalent to a 16GB 1070 PC, and that's a pretty good deal for $499".

"kind of" "maybe" Still going on about this? lol

Interested due to the setting but the fact Sucker Punch is making it puts me off. Hopefully they can make a good game this time.

It doesn't look that good right now. However, we haven't seen too much of it yet other than highly scripted and tailored scenes.

The dev literally stated "maybe". "If you think about it, it's kind of equivalent to a GTX 1070 maybe". That's taken directly from your quote. Also using the word "equivalent" is accomplishing what you stated, not the "kind of".

Please show me where I ignored that? I don't remember commenting on that one's GPU comment. Simply quoting a developer that stated it's bottle necked by its CPU. Power doesn't come solely from a GPU.

On the subject of the Xbox One X's horsepower, Stieglitz said Ark can run at the equivalent of "Medium" or "High" settings on PC. It can run at 1080p/60fps (Medium) or 1440p/30fps (High), and it sounds like developer Studio Wildcard may offer an option to switch between them.

For GTX 1070, medium settings 1080p resolution with 60 fps target starts at https://youtu.be/nIbiUd3l4PQ?t=20

None of that has anything to do with what I posted, you literally ignored everything. Please do not spam me with unrelated posts.

If it helps you, I never made any claims regarding what the GPU was capable of. I simply commented on what the devs themselves said so all of the stuff you posted is irrelevant. If you need me to make myself more clear, let me know.

Your attempt to use "maybe" to negate "If you think about it, it's kind of equivalent to a GTX 1070" is flawed and dev has specific graphics setting equivalency for X1X.

How is it flawed to actually read what they said? It's not a definitive statement as the "maybe" and the "kind of" brings doubt into the "equivalent to a GTX 1070" part. You're wanting to ignore it because it brings doubt into your interpretation, which is what they're saying is definitive, when it absolutely isn't.

If I tell you: "I'll be there, maybe". It means that there's a chance I won't be there. Whereas, if I state: "I'll be there", then there's absolutely no doubt as to me being there. Are you understanding what I'm saying or do you require more help?

We have two developers who states the following claims.

It's definitely within the realm of [Nvidia's 10-series cards], ranging from the 1060 to 1080. It's somewhere in that range, looking at the comparisons that we've done, but it's hard to make an apples-to-apples comparison of exactly where it's at as it really depends on the games and the CPU and things like that...it's like current generation of Nvidia [hardware]

1. "Kind of" "maybe"

2. "depends on the games and the CPU"

Lol

1. X1X doesn't have actual Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070, hence "Kind of". Dev didn't state "maybe" which is your fan fiction.

2. Ignoring "It's definitely within the realm of [Nvidia's 10-series cards], ranging from the 1060 to 1080" is your stupidity.

I was referring more to the part that if BC were to be available for PS4 today it would be crap which is not true since they already make enhancements for old games so BC games could be also enhanced the same way.

How's that argument any better than saying it would be crap? The answer is that it's not.

If they were to offer free backwards compatibility, we cannot say if it would be done in a similar vein to the rereleases or that it wouldn't. Selling a game and offering an upscaled\upresed version of something you already own are two completely different things both financially and technically.

Well they have a way to do it so why assume they wouldn't do it?

You mean by hardcoding it into the game? I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that's how they're doing it in the case of the rereleases. Are you seeing the problem with doing that with a disc based game?

Because the PS2 games are running on an emulator that enhances the games. It's not about individual game hardcoded enhancements.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-hands-on-with-ps4-playstation2-emulation

I will concede then. It does make it quite shit then they don't let people play their own discs.
