Finding all the bombs on Metal Gear Solid 2 and fighting Fatman. It's not hard at all but, I think that part is a bit lame, and the game starts to get so much better after beating Fatman.

Wow. FFVII will be remade eventually. Whoever says that it needn't be turn-based is an idiot. Maybe an extra option for some sort of action based system, but to take turn-based out of it would be a huge mistake. You'd annhilate most of the fans. Also, whoever says turn-based is dead? Never...I prefer it to an action-RPG system ANY day. If I want an action game, I'll play one. I grew up playing turn-based RPGs and that's how I've come to know and love them. Planning out your attacks ahead of time is harder and more strategic than running around hacking and slashing. And some of us enjoy watching the awesome animations and spells.

You know at this point I think half the nuts who worship FF7 never even played it. It was a great game...for 1996-97. FF8 was just a good even better. And FF10 was way better all around. Let it go people.

Umm...no. At this point I think half the nuts who worship FFX never even played it. It has nothing on VII...period. Let it go people.

FFVII characters didn't even have voice actors, and I still feel more connected to them than I did ANY of FFX's characters. FFX has nice graphics, and that's about it.

And another thing, PS3 doesn't look bad on a standard definition tv. Does it look as good as HD? Of course not, but I played my PS3 on a standard definition tv for months, and it looked pretty good.

I wouldn't recommend playing it on a big screen standard definition tv though, then it probably wouldn't look too good.

If your monitor is HDCP compliant I don't see why it wouldn't work. You might need to buy an HDMI to DVi cable/converter though, which should only be a few bucks probably.

Keep in mind that unless your monitor has speakers, you're also going to need to run RCA cables out of your PS3 into a stereo or something for audio.

Go for it! Open that baby up!

Dude...I still don't see how you can say the A.I. sucks. Have you ever even played MGS2? If you tried to hide they'd send in the armored soldiers to clear the entire room an area at a time.

If you're idea of A.I. is them relentlessly trying to maul you without any type of strategy, order, or fear for their own life, then it ought to be called A.S. (artificial stupidity)

Soldiers are trained to be tactical. That's how they are in MGS.

"Repeated level design and moderately troublesome camera"

Bah...that's been said about every DMC. I'm not scared. DMC4 looks AWESOME.

Stay away...I think people were so starved for games at the time that they'd accept anything. They're just lying to themselves. I love PS3 more than anything but, I'll admit Lair was bad. Give it a rental first...seriously. It's not even the controls. The controls were simple and very easy to learn. They were just bad. However I DID try playing the game with a USB controller so I could fly with analog joysticks. It really didn't make things any better. This game is supposed to have awesome graphics. Really? I didn't think so...they're rough and unpolished...and very bland and repetitive. Overall the game is just boring, flawwed, crappy gameplay, crappy "missions", etc.

RENT FIRST.

Assassin's Creed would have awesome animations if they ran at a decent framerate.

Obviously you're not a long time MGS fan, or don't care what the series is about. The series has never been about extreme realism...hence the storyline. The question marks/exclamation points above the soldiers heads had nothing to do with the lack of console power. It wouldn't have been hard to change facial expressions...even on PSX. Would it have looked as good as it can nowadays? No...but they could've done it. It's just part of the game man...and if MGS4 didn't have it, I think a lot of the fans would be upset. The A.I. has also improved in each MGS so I don't see how you're complaining about it. It's definitely a lot better than most games.

If you want ultra realism...go play Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon or some crap. You obviously want MGS4 for the wrong reasons.
