I'm afraid to open my new PS3 because................

I bought a PS3 today and I'm afriad to open it because I'm not sure it will work with my monitor. If I open it I can't return it and I'm stuck playing on a standard def TV. I can't buy a new TV because I'm poor.

My monitor is hdcp compatable and has a resalution of 1440x900.

Anyone think it will work or have advice?

If your monitor is HDCP compliant I don't see why it wouldn't work. You might need to buy an HDMI to DVi cable/converter though, which should only be a few bucks probably.

Keep in mind that unless your monitor has speakers, you're also going to need to run RCA cables out of your PS3 into a stereo or something for audio.

And another thing, PS3 doesn't look bad on a standard definition tv. Does it look as good as HD? Of course not, but I played my PS3 on a standard definition tv for months, and it looked pretty good.

I wouldn't recommend playing it on a big screen standard definition tv though, then it probably wouldn't look too good.

Your title topic got me to assume that maybe a goblin went up to you and let you choose one of two PS3s he was carrying and if you chose the wrong one then you would be turned into a mushroom and be eaten my people starving in the woods, but little do they know, you're poisonous, so they die in front of you and fungi grow on them and there are a whole bunch mroe of you and you all start fighting until you see the goblin again to ask for your body back but in exchange you need to give the goblin some pie which is just not possible to do when you're stuck as a mushroom, so you're stuck there with other mushroom copies of you until you die because of a cold winter, only to be found by Hideo Kojima which turns your sad story into a video game.

How old are you?

If you are in your teens, don't worry about the job thing... if in your 20's and 30's.. well thats just a bad decision you made.

I have my PS3 and I am in about the same boat as the TC is in, only it's because the doctors said no work for me because of medical problems. I would rather be working than staying home most all the time like I am doing now.
