The moment I found out that the HD DVD drives were being discontinued, I traded my drive to a friend for Burnout Paradise and 25 bucks. I also gave him the movies that I had purchased for it so I took a loss but, in the end, there's no reason to support a "dead" format. I also received the $50 gift card from Best Buy so that sort of eased the pain.

The repair place sends you a refurbished system that is already fixed (So that you can get back to playing faster) So yes, Im guessing it would be already fixed

Phazevariance

Not true. I wrote down the serial number of my system and when it returned from repair, I checked the serial again. They were both the same meaning the system i sent to them was the same one that they sent back.

All that proves is that you got the same case back.

I wasn't sent a refurb as you had stated. Regardless of the contents of my "repaired" 360 (maybe new mobo, GPU, heatsink, etc) I just hope that the repairs done help alleviate the RRoD problem.

Alright, about two months ago my xbox 360 decided it was time to die after about a 2 and a half year relationship. After calling up the xbox hotline and telling the tech my problem, he told me the procedure and I get it boxed up and shipped out. Now, i didn't tell the tech that my DVD drive would mess up every other time i opened it because i was under the impression that the warranty only covered the RRoD. Two weeks later I get my 360 back and, besides not red ringing, the DVD opens every time and it's really quiet. My question is, have any other people sent their RRoD 360 in for repair with a faulty DVD drive and got both fixed??? I thought it was pretty awesome that they would actually test it and decide to replace it.

So what games are you looking forward to? before 2009JalSheyII

LOL!!! I mis-read the title of your thread. I was going to give props to Ayane from NG2. That girl has matured a lot since the last game.

Awwww, the good old days!!! It was December '05 and I was bummed because I had been looking for the 360 for about a month after launch and I couldn't find it. I was driving home from a 24/7 Walmart at around 04:30 am in the morning (I used to work the late shift) and, just for kicks, I decided to drive pass the local Best Buy. What I saw was a line of about 20 people and I had an instinct on what they were waiting for. I decide to stop and ask the guy in front of me what he was waiting on and he told me that his neighbor was a manager at the Best Buy and he said they were receiving 32 360s that day. I jump in line, call my buddy up, and wait until 9 am. The first 32 people received a voucher for a 360 and as soon as they opened up the doors, I rushed to the games section, picked up COD2, Condemned, PGR3, an extra controller, and some batteries. I picked up my console at the checkout and walked away with $650 less than what I walked in with but it was worth it. The first thing I did when I got home was pop in COD2 and played it for about 5 hours straight. I remember the glitch that would restart your game after you made it so far. I must've replayed the first 2 hours of the game 10 times until I checked online and found out about that glitch.

VLAN the two consoles and see if that helps. Maybe if they're assigned a different IP address from a different subnet you could avoid this happening.
