I think a lot of people purchased Fallout 3 thinking it would be just another FPS, but obviously it's not. I started playing this weekend (about 6 hours in) and I'm liking it so far. It was definitely overwhelming at first and the map system really, really gets on my nerves (I walk around for almost an hour, but the arrow on the world map doesn't even move), but I'm getting used to it. Especially the Navigation and maps. A tip to all new Fallout 3 players: Don't even bother trying to rely on the world map, just follow your compass arrow the best you can and you'll eventually find where it is you are going. I bought Oblivion and hated it, so I was hesitant to buy Fallout, but I enjoyed the RPG/Shooting/Customization/Upgrading aspects of Bioshock so much that I thought I'd give Fallout 3 a go. I'm pleasantly suprised so far. We'll see if I tough it out and actually finish it though.

I "gaveing" the game a chance, but I still like the original better. It was mediocre to say the least. The pacing was way off and there was too much trial and error.

I totally agree with the TC. Capcom got lazy, threw a fresh coat of paint on the RE4 engine, and what we're left with is a complete rehash of RE4 with a new story, different characters, not-scary/tense gameplay (basing this on the demo), and pretty graphics. All the animations are identical to RE4, hell...even the sound effects were recycled. Other developers can get away with this sort of thing, but we hardcore RE fans expect more. When RE4 released it was amazing and innovative for it's new over the shoulder view, quick time events, etc. What is so innovative about RE5? Nothing so far....let's hope I'm wrong when the full game releases in a few months.

I saw some major improvements in a few games, faster loading times, less disc tray noise, cooler operating temperatures......by the way...woohoo! My 1,000th post!

Something was definitely off with the aiming/shooting controls. It didn't feel as tight as RE4. I was a master at gettting headshots in RE4 and I felt like a complete novice in the RE5 demo. Aside from the control I'm quite dissapointed. The animations of the zombies are identical to RE4. All they did was throw a fresh coat of paint on RE4's engine. Not a bad idea from a business standpoint, but they could've at least used some new motion capture animations for when zombies get shot, the way that they move/attack/fall when dead, etc. Even the damn sound effects from RE4 were recycled.

What a bunch of morons! Why would you do this? I can understand being loyal to one brand or the other (not me since I own/love both the PS3/360), but why go to such extremes as to burning a bunch of 360's? How does doing this justify Killzone 2 being the best shooter ever? To boot, the damn game hasn't even come out yet so it makes them look even more stupid. I have high hopes for KZ2 as do all PS3 owners, but geez...talk about going over the edge. And to the moron from that high school that quoted how cool it was to use the sixaxis controller in turning a valve?? Umm....don't know where you've been but that same functionality was implemented in Call of Duty 3 when the PS3 was launched in '06. You could use the sixaxis to set the pin in the explosives.

I doubt it as well. I somewhat enjoyed the first one. The graphics were gorgeous, the setting was great, the concept of using additional powers on top of regular firearms was genius, but very poorly implemented. With addittional developement time, Jericho could've been great. I guess we'll never know....nor we will ever see a sequel. It's too bad.

Fable II was a big disappointment for me. I loved the first one and to this day I still think it's better than II. The customization in II sucked, there's like less than 10 different costumes to give your character, not as many haircuts/facial hair options as the 1st, no in-game/on-screen map. I thought the story and ending were stupid, and the dog is completely useless aside from finding treasure. Not once in my entire playthrough did the dog attack an enemy, not once. Another bunch of BS promises from Mr. Peter Molyneux and the folks at Lionhead.
