@Marky360: There's two reasons 1 secret reason.

A) PC can do more than just game, like work, try telling your PS4 to do Photoshop.

B) Secret reason. You can easily pirate games on PCs. And NO Online fees.

@computernoises: No it was meant to be photo real, they would not have hired actors if they didn't care.

Just like Lord of the Rings looks photo real cause its real actors, Witcher was supposed to look like Lord of the Rings the movie, but doesn't.

The character models in the Witcher 3 don't have the polygon density of The Order that's why they still look like game characters.

But Sony spent shit load of money and time to achieve The Order level graphics.

@poorkingz: Exactly resolution is not the only barometer for visual fidelity.

I own a true 4K PC, with dual Sli GTX 1070 and a hexa i7. But to this I have never seen a game that looked more realistic than The Order at 800/30fps.

I've played The Witcher 3 in 4K by the way still doesn't look photorealistic.

Its sheer polygon density, and insane production value that makes game look great, not simply higher resolution.

I've not seen a game to match The Order's polydense models to this day.

@creepywelps: Debateable compared to DX12, but it is custom. So Sony's first party stuff will get a performance bump.

@s2i2p2i2o: You cannot achieve magical resolutions from optimization. A PS3 will never magically push 4K, and a PS4 will never magically push 8K.

The resolution threshold stays the sames, IE PS4 = 1080p and Pro = 4K 30fps capped.

But what you will see with optimization is games like "The Order 1886" where the polygon density of the game is so insanely high, that it looks like CGI even at lower resolution, the graphics looks light years better than any other game to date due to optimization despite the low resolution.

@GoingPostal13: Its impossible to do on PC due to hardware and OS variance.

Even on console third party devs never optimize for console API because they are trying to sell on multiplats.

You only ever see Uncharted scenario on first party games. Where there is unlimited budget and unlimited time to optimise for one hardware configuration.

@Xristophoros: This is true. This is how The Order 1886 was able to run on PS4 and look better that anything else to date.

But then again only first party games made by Sony and MS ever take advantage of the custom API.

It cost too much money and time to customize a game to run using every ounce of power on just one hardware spec

@catsimboy: Because consoles use custom onboard chips, custom API and closed off custom OS, there is no way to imitate an console 1 to 1. In order to compensate for the proprietary nature of consoles, you need to build a PC that is slightly more powerful to get the same result.

Coming from an PC enthusiast, I believe they got it spot on.

Building an 1 to 1 spec, would have yield degraded performances that would not be accurate to the console.

@creepywelps: PS4 runs on custom OS with better API and little to no OS overhead.

PC's cannot achieve this, so they compensated by building a slightly stronger PC. The performance will be the same.

@computernoises: Give them away to poor kids, no PC enthusiast would want that cheap rig.
