@ninboxstation: Yes Good VR is too early. But like all things they must start from somewhere. Remember the first generation 3D games, Virtua Fighter 1 remember that, that was a taste of what polygons could do.
This current gen of VR is a taste of what VR can do. In order to get good smooth HD VR, we need to wait another hardware generation. PS5/XB1 will do proper VR.
@ninboxstation: Nothing can do that. Not even Occulus.
In order to do 1080p VR, you need a 5K goggle display, with each eye pumping out 2.5K at 60fps. Due to pixel warping from the goggles, a simple 4K goggle won't give you 1080p VR.
So basically you need a system able to do 5K at 120fps.
Nothing can do this at present. Not even a SLI Gtx 1080 with Octocore i7.
@haywaja: I just want a pointless and frivolous upgrade to be a little less frivolous and a little less pointless.
As it stands the system is not really true 4K, we'll need to wait for PS5 for that and it doesn't even play 4K movies.
If you want me to throw out my old PS4, you need something better than an 4Kish system with no Bluray. Especially when your competition is offering their own 4kish system with Bluray.
