@just1mohr: You are quite intelligent for saying that you want Sony to have tough competition. I applaud you for this.

However, the fanboys will only see what they want to see. No matter what, MS' show on Thursday will be an abysmal failure to those who think a world with only Sony and Nintendo is a better place.

Was it just me, or did it seem that Shawn was very uncomfortable up there.....

Phil seemed very "cocky" standing there

.........and Reggie seemed clueless as to what was going on up there

LOL

Not digital? No thanks. All my old PS3 and 360 games have taken up all my shelf space.

@shadowwarrior4: Actually the smartest thing to do, IMO, would be to make it BC immediately while working on a sequel or a spin-off and then a few months before the new game's release, make the original a GWG to hype ppl up for the new, upcoming game.

It's not like the original game was bad. The more exposure the original gets, the more a sequel would be likely. They've obviously already paid for the IP, so it would be so simple to make it BC and then potentially generate some new interest/revenue for those that had maybe never heard of it before.

I say THQ Nordic should strike a deal: MS agrees to charge THQ no cost at all to make it BC, and then put it on the schedule for a GWG at some point down the road for a discounted price for MS to pay THQ Nordic.

This brings new meaning to the phrase, "Yeah, but can it run Doom?"

@Bread_or_Decide: I do own a switch, but mostly for 1st party stuff. I don't mean to crap on your original point you were trying to get across, because you're right, getting 3rd party support is a major accomplishment in it's own.

However, I won't be getting Doom on the Switch. I already own it on XB1 and the Switch version, while amazing that it exists, is not my most ideal way to play it. Sure, it's portable, and that's awesome, but it doesn't outweigh the fact that it's a better experience for me if I just wait until I get home to play Doom. I think Doom on Switch is more of a "test-pilot" for Bethesda to see how well it sells on the platform. And also, I think Nintendo probably highly supported this decision by Bethesda as well to showcase how powerful the Switch can actually be. I think the whole existence of this game on Switch is more of Bethesda proving that they "could" before stopping to think if they "should" (yes, I stole Ian Malcolm's line). But hey, if this version of Doom is the only way some people can enjoy it, then they should definitely still play it on the Switch. Again, it is amazing that this game is able to exist on the Switch.

@Bread_or_Decide: That's the internet for you. Nobody appreciates anything anymore. Surely it has to have something to do with the fact that (for the most part) anyone can say anything and there is no accountability; no reputation to tarnish. You're (for the most part) anonymous. But then again, some people LIVE on the internet. Some people feel that hurting their reputation on the internet is worse than hurting their reputation IRL. Wow, I got way too deep there for a minute. Sorry everyone, you can go back to being assholes now.
